With so many options for the MMO enthusiast at this time of year, smaller titles can get lost under the scrum of massive advertising budgets. Lock thinks that Das Tal is a game that deserves your attention, even if it's not part of the heavyweight division.
The Das Tal Wiki is now under the oversight of the development team to make sure that all of the most up-to-date information is presented to players in an easy-to-read format knowing that new fans and players will be arriving in the forthcoming months. In addition, a "first steps" video has been released to ease the journey into the game.
The Das Tal team is ready to unleash a big new update during a nine-day event for development supporters, testers and clans. Beginning October 31st, two servers will be active, one in North America and one in Central Europe. Players will be able to check out months' worth of upgrades and overhauls to some systems and to the introduction of new ones.
On August 29th, anyone interested in helping the Das Tal development team test the game are invited to do so in a special event in which new enemy AI will take center stage after a series of improvements to the feature. The event will take place at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern.
While the Das Tal KickStarter has wrapped up without reaching its funding goal, the team is not ready to give up just yet. Head of Communications David Wells has posted some post-KickStarter thoughts for fans of the game.
Those wishing to find out more about Das Tal will have their wishes granted thanks to 24-hour free access to the alpha version of the game on June 9th.

Das Tal has come a long way since my preview of it last year. Fairytale Distillery’s vision and approach for it is ambitious, with the goal of offering an accessible but hardcore sandbox MMO experience that focuses on PvP, crafting, and skill-based combat. From what I’ve seen so far, Fairytale looks to be on the right track.
