The Das Tal site has been updated with the news that an American server will be added in time for the Summer Alpha. The decision was made in response to the popular support the game is receiving in both North and South America and this server joins the EU server to house all players.
As the Das Tal team prepares for the Summer Alpha on July 16th, and to assist the new players heading into the game, a new tutorial area has been added to introduce systems and features.
The Das Tal team has sent word that the Summer Alpha will kick off on July 16th. The event will be hosted on EU servers and will run for two weeks. Anyone interested in participating can register on the Das Tal site by July 15th for guaranteed access. Those registering after that date will be accommodated as space becomes available.
The Das Tal team is encouraging player clans to earn Respect during the July Alpha Test. Those clans earning the highest Respect numbers will be able to score any one of a number of Nomad Packs.
The latest Das Tal update has been applied to servers and it brings a whole new level of fighting with the addition of twenty-nine new combat abilities. According to the team, the new abilities bring "interesting choices" to players in terms of how they fight and will require thought in order to make the best choice.
The latest Das Tal update has been deployed that brings a number of changes to the game including a vastly improved new player experience. In addition, combat balance, an improved UI and more polish to movement abilities are now live via the patch.
Earlier this month, Game Director Alexander Zacherl posted an interesting retrospective on the recently held Spring Alpha event. In it, Zacherl wrote about the successes and about the lessons learned that will drive improvements and additions as the team plans for the next event to be held this summer.
The Das Tal team has more money to assist in the development of the game thanks to increased investment by a German game investment fund and 'angels' who recently doubled pledged funds. Now totaling over 300,000 Euro, Fairytale Distillery can begin more focused development in player engagement though veteran stages and the tutorial system.
US Das Tal clans will want to mark their calendars for March 18th when the Clan Spring Alpha begins. Players will get to take part in several in-game events and sieges between March 18th and March 31st.
The Das Tal team has published an extensive newsletter about the changes the team has implemented over the past month and that will be incoming through March. In addition, players will have at least a couple of opportunities to try out various systems with the March 15th US Clan Pre Alpha 2 Playtest with invites to PvP guilds already sent. Lastly, Spring Alpha will get underway "soon" with more to be revealed at a later date.
The Das Tal site has been updated with a new post that takes a look back at 2015 and the accomplishments and lessons learned from Alpha #1. Based on player feedback, the team has a list of items in developmental progress in preparation for Alpha #2 that is scheduled to begin in April 2016.

Taking the community input into consideration, the blog is packed with things the developers will be working on in the next weeks and months.
