The Division 2 Articles

Latest

  • The Almost MMO and Me

I’ve noticed something of late - I haven’t logged into a real MMORPG, even my precious Elder Scrolls Online, in weeks. In ESO’s case, this is partly because I’m waiting for Elsweyr. But usually, between big content swells of ESO, I’m at least playing something else - GW2, WoW, FFXIV, Neverwinter, and so forth. But there’s a type of game that seems to be meeting my needs for persistence and online play. I’ve been trying to think of a name for them for ages, and I think Almost MMO just about covers it.

  • Tips for Starting Out in The Division 2

We’ve been playing The Division 2 in early access the last few days and there’s just a ton to take in with this game. With The Division 2 launching for everyone later this evening, we figured this would be a great opportunity to highlight some tips to start you out on the right foot.

  • Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Red Divided

Red Thomas looks at The Division 2 and assesses whether he thinks it’s worth the buy or not. Red explores some of the content differences that have changed since the first game and ponders whether his previous story-breaking constitutional concerns still trouble him in the sequel.

  • The Division 2's Massive Endgame

Watching Massive’s Endgame info dump livestream yesterday, I found myself nodding so often I could have probably hurt my neck. I can’t possibly speak to how good of a game The Division 2 will end up being at this point, but one thing’s for sure, it won’t be lacking in endgame content.

  • The Division 2 – Open Beta Impressions

As a final prelude to the inevitable launch next week, Ubisoft led this past weekends’ Open Beta as an unexpected love letter to Division players. Despite maintaining a fairly limited scope that falls in line with what we saw in the Private Beta, Ubisoft proved that they are all ears when it comes to making concessions on their original design to make their players happy. The long journey from New York to Washington D.C. has almost finished, but is the Open Beta enough to curtail fears of a problematic launch?

  • The Division 2 Impressions – Divided Gameplay

From my initial gameplay impressions, through my interview with Keith Evans, and on to the end of the private beta test, I’ve had the opportunity to play The Division 2 more than most. After sufficient time in the very early game and more rounds in the Black Tusks invaded mission than anyone would realistically want to play, especially knowing that they wouldn’t keep any of the loot on launch, there’s no doubt that The Division 2 has improved over The Division 1, but is it enough to justify a purchase for players that are on the fence?

  • The Division 2 – Time for End Game

The Division 2 and its nearly 50 hours of game play is only the beginning. players should expect invasion missions, strongholds, occupied guard zones, roaming caravans of enemies, a living world system, specializations, 8-person raids, and a special end-game-only faction called the Black Tusks, which will surely create problems as they permeate the living world and the accompanying end game missions.

  • The Division 2 Interview with Keith Evans

In the most recent event, we were able to dive into The Division 2’s PvE content, which covered the entire spectrum from creating a new character, all the way to end game. With so much to cover, we sat down with Keith Evans, the Senior Lead Designer, and asked about what players can expect from The Division 2 and how it compares to The Division 1.

  • Hands-on with The Division 2’s Dark Zones and Competitive PVP

Last month, Ubisoft flew us down to the Red Storm offices in Cary, North Carolina for a sneak peek at The Division 2. We went hands-on with the game’s new PVP gameplay and are here with a first look of the game in action and our thoughts on the changes. You won’t want to miss it.

  • MMORPG.com’s Best of 2018 Awards

The new year is upon us, and that can only mean one thing. Time for us to look back at the year that was while bracing for the year ahead and recount the best (and worst) games we played during the last twelve months. The entire writing staff of MMORPG.com was polled for this year’s awards, and each game that won had a majority vote in its favor.
