The Black Death steam site has been updated with an interesting new blog post that makes a surprising acknowledgment before launching into pretty exciting news for the game.
First, the team tells readers that when Early Access began over half a year ago, they quickly realized that the game was not in the place they wanted it to be. The process began by identifying what features were missing and the most crucial bugs and fixes that needed to be implemented. In addition, players' actions were tracked: What did they do most? What did they avoid? What were motivations for each. The resulting data has led to a patch set for deployment on March 30th.
First among reworked features is a completely overhauled combat system based on an improved physics system. According to the blog, this means "a generally more responsive game play experience."
Other improved or added features include:
- day / night cycle
- overhauled player housing
- new music
- improved spawn locations
- pillaging areas
