TERA was at PAX West with a great addition to its popular console line up. The Ninja class is coming to the PS4 and Xbox versions of the game with all the fun and speed the class brings to the game. We got a chance to preview some of the feature with its design and here is what we found out.
As many of you may already know, Tera is getting ready to make its way from PC to console. And just this last weekend fans got their first chance to check out the MMO on a PS4 at Sony’s Playstation Experience. And even though I wasn’t able to make the event itself, I did get a chance to go hands-on with a brief demo of what fans can expect.
Tera has been around on the free-to-play MMORPG for PC’s for a few years and has garnered itself a large following of fans and players. Now, as the game readies to make it jump from PC exclusive to the F2P console market En Masse is ready to give players their first taste of what it’s like to play Tera on a console. We were able to snag some hands-on time with the upcoming port at PAX and check out how it feels to play Tera on its new home.
By this time next Tuesday, TERA’s latest update will be upon us. Called Secrets & Shadows, the latest content update for TERA brings the new Elin Ninja class, new dungeons, new story-based quests, and yes… flying mounts. We had a chance to take a peek at the update before it hits the live servers, and came away with these thoughts.
During a recent preview event, we had the opportunity to both preview the new Brawler class coming with next month's TERA update, Knockout, and a chance to talk to Patrick Sun and the TERA team from En Masse about the update and what it means for the game.
If you are an MMORPG fan like I am, it is easy to become a little depressed, thanks to the seemingly endless discussions over the “death” of MMOs and studio closures or while reading the comments section. (Note to self: stop it.) Even with my Jedi-level “game journalist” training (I put that on all of my business cards) I still find myself occasionally feeling down. Blue. Sad. Wondering about the future of “real” MMO gaming.

Fate of Arun, the first Expansion to TERA, takes you to the undiscovered homeland of the barakas to explore savage jungles and colossal ruins. A land full of fearsome enemies and potentially new allies in need your help to throw off the yoke of tyranny.
