According to a report from the East Valley (AZ) Tribune, property control for Stargate Worlds and Stargate Resistance has been returned to developer Cheyenne Mountain. Sadly, time has probably run out for Cheyenne Mountain to be able to get Stargate Worlds out the door. MGM has terminated the license originally issued in 2006 that granted Cheyenne Mountain the use of the intellectual property from the TV shows.
Continuing the arduous Stargate Worlds saga, Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment has announced that they have entered receivership. As part of the receivership CME has sold off all its assets (including Stargate Resistance) to a company rather appropriately named Fresh Start, which was started up by former Cheyenne employees.
Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, the folks behind the oft-troubled Stargate Worlds, as well as the recently released shooter Stargate Resistance, have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This information has been confirmed through the Clerk of Superior Court's Office of Maricopa County, Arizona.

In a move sure to surprise a few fans out there, Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment today announced a new third person shooter based in the Stargate Universe called "Stargate Resistance". The new shooter is set to launch in Q1 2010, and will be available exclusively for the PC platform.

Acccording to a statement issued on Monday night, Firesky's upcoming MMORPG Stargate Worlds is still up and running and while it isn't out of the woods yet, the statement indicates continued goodness on the horizon.
