Stargate Worlds

Stargate Worlds was a 3D sci-fi MMORPG from Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and FireSky based on the popular Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis TV series. The game focused on squad-based ranged combat and utilized modern and science fiction weaponry, cover and terrain, and also offered a non-combat experience in the forms of detailed crafting and construction gameplay.

Playable areas in the MMO were based on both historical and fictional human time periods, alien environments, and interstellar space locales. Players were to pick from the "Big Four" races within the Stargate universe (Human, Jaffa, Goa’uld or Asgard), and choose from the seven class archetypes of Archaeologist, Asgard, Goa'uld, Jaffa, Scientist, Soldier, and Commando.

According to a report from the East Valley (AZ) Tribune, property control for Stargate Worlds and Stargate Resistance has been returned to developer Cheyenne Mountain. Sadly, time has probably run out for Cheyenne Mountain to be able to get Stargate Worlds out the door. MGM has terminated the license originally issued in 2006 that granted Cheyenne Mountain the use of the intellectual property from the TV shows.
