The Star Wars: The Old Republic site has been updated with a new developer blog that discusses Dark vs Light as it will appear in Knights of the Eternal Throne. In the new Galactic Command system, players will have a direct impact on the eternal war raging between Dark and Light users of the Force.
As player characters amass and earn Dark or Light points based on actions within the game, the same will also have an impact on a server's total Dark or Light side points. Once one side achieves victory, the entire galaxy is affected for a period of time.
The winning side will earn:
- Bonus Command Experience
- Dark / Light side tokens after earning a Command Rank
- Access to a cosmetic item reward vendor
The losing side isn't left completely bereft:
- a bonus to Light side points
- fighting and defeating Dark side enemies earns Light tokens
