Star Wars: The Old Republic Articles

The Star Wars: The Old Republic blog has been updated with a new post from Senior Designer George Smith. In it, Smith details forthcoming changes coming to operations and flashpoints when the Knights of the Fallen Empire goes live later this year. Most notably, players can look forward to solo flashpoints mainly due to their importance to the story overall.

Bioware will be on hand to meet and greet Star Wars: The Old Republic players during this weekend's San Diego Comic Con. The Community Cantina Panel will take place on Saturday, July 11th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Pacific.

Knights of the Fallen Empire signals a big change for SWTOR. This doesn’t mean that BioWare will be leaving out the “MMO bits” as it calls them, but it’s clear that things are changing. I still fully expect there to be new raids, flashpoints, and warzones, but these items appear to be sidelined in favor of a renewed focus on story.

During E3, we chatted with BioWare's Bruce Maclean about the forthcoming major story expansion: Knights of the Fallen Empire. Watch and learn all about the expansion in this exclusive interview.

This week's MMOFTW is about the three biggest stories from the MMO world during E3: SWTOR's new expansion, FFXIV's Heavensward, and GW2's pre-order kerfuffle. Watch and learn!

It’s the year of Star Wars with the new movie, Battlefront, and now SWTOR’s next big expansion: Knights of the Fallen Empire. Announced officially during EA’s E3 press conference, the expansion marks a new major story initiative for BioWare’s MMORPG, and we got to see just what that means in a behind-closed-doors presentation at EA’s press booth.

On Monday at the Electronic Arts presser at E3, BioWare Austin announced that it was overturning the applecart that is Star Wars: the Old Republic. While we got a taste of the next iteration the previous Friday when a somewhat calculated leak of the new expansion's name and many of its details was hastily removed from the official website, sometimes it takes a trailer and a studio General Manager showing up to make it feel more real.

The EA conference is underway and Jeff Hickman has taken to the stage with the announcement of more story, Bioware type story!

It appears the website for Star Wars: The Old Republic's upcoming Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion has gone up early.

During EA's E3 2015 Press Conference scheduled for next week on June 15th, more information will be revealed to Star Wars: The Old Republic players and what they have to look forward to as the year progresses with the just announced Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion.

It's been four and a half months since BioWare Austin released the second full expansion of Star Wars: The Old Republic, entitled Shadow of Revan. At the launch and since that time, the level cap increased to 60, everyone's skill trees were replaced by Disciplines, they've added story encompassing three new planets, we now have a better means of managing our characters' outfits, and there have been a few new Flashpoints and Operations.
