The Dark Side of Planetary Scaling

During yesterday's Star Wars: The Old Republic live stream of Knights of the Fallen Empire, Bioware's Eric Musco revealed that planets will be level scaled. Players going to low- or lower-level planets will have their levels scaled to match. The forums are aflame with players letting developers know in no uncertain terms (overall) that this is an unwanted feature.

KotFE May Be the Expansion You’re Looking For

It may seem at odds to use the words “epic” and “accessible” in the same sentence, but Bioware and EA’s upcoming expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic seeks to embody both of those terms in equal measure. If the entirety of Knights of the Fallen Empire (KotFE) is matched by the brief playthrough that I was privy to at an offsite preview yesterday, the expansion is going to pack quite a bit of a punch, while still being inviting to newer players.

Calculating the Jump to Hyperspace (and a New Expansion) For Non-Subscribers

In approximately a month's time, subscribers to Star Wars: the Old Republic will be playing the new expansion and no doubt blazing a trail through the nine chapters of the new story that will be released at launch. Whether you prefer to gobble it up in one sitting or take your time and savor, there's plenty of new BioWare-flavored story to enjoy. Imperial Companions I’d Like to See Return in KoTFE

Not all companions will return in the story of Star Wars: The Old Republic’s upcoming expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire. We’ve seen Kira Carsen so far, but everyone else is essentially in limbo right now.

Companions to Remain Available

The Star Wars: The Old Republic forum has been updated with a new post to reassure players that their existing companions will remain available to them outside of the story Chapters in the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. During Chapters, a specific group of characters will be accompanying players.

Something Old, Something New, Something Jawa, Something Blue

Companions are finally getting a shakeup in the new expansion for Star Wars: the Old Republic. BioWare Austin has set themselves the task of making companions interesting once more, with some meaty choices where one or more of them could die as part of your Outlander storyline.

How SWTOR Force-Persuaded Me

Victor explains the circumstances that caused Star Wars: The Old Republic to finally shine brightly for him.

James Ohlen on BioWare Storytelling

It’s an incredible year for Star Wars fans. Episode VII: The Force Awakens arrives in cinemas later this year. Star Wars: Battlefront hits PCs and consoles in November. And with our own genre, Knights of the Fallen Empire, the latest expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, will open from October 27. Our own Gareth “Gazimoff” Harmer caught up with James Ohlen, Game Director on SWTOR, over at Gamescom. to find out more.

Bioware's Eric Musco has posted on the Star Wars: The Old Republic forums that the v3.3 patch that includes the playable Togruta race, has been delayed for the time being. The team is anxious to get it into the hands of players and will deploy the update as soon as possible with more information to be released tomorrow.

Bioware has confirmed that the Togruta race will become playable beginning with the v3.3 update that will be deployed on Tuesday, July 21st. Interestingly, devs also revealed that headgear on Togruta, because of the appendages on their heads, will be hidden, opening the way, the post said, for "other species down the line who have 'head things going on'."
