The Star Trek Online site has been updated with a new post that shows off big changes coming to Deep Space Nine in preparation for the Victory is Life content expansion. The team has been hard at work overhauling the location to make "it the most show-accurate version yet".

Yeah, we love it too, and we thought it was time to give her a little love.  We’ve had a Deep Space Nine map in the game for ages now, but like other things from those days, DS9 has been showing its age.  There are a lot of issues with the old map that we don’t need to get into, so let’s talk about what we’ve done on the new map instead. We’ve rebuilt the entirety of the Promenade ring to match the show.  That means all of your favorite spots are there, including one you’ve already got a sneak peek at in the recent episode “The Renegade’s Regret”- the Security Office and its Holding Cells.  In addition, we’ve updated or added the Infirmary, the Bajoran Temple, the Klingon Deli, the Jumja Stand, the Replimat, and of course, Garak’s Clothiers.

The zone was originally to be revamped about two years ago but got sidelined when work began on the Iconian War finale. With Victory is Life, the team received another chance to have a go at it.

Players will find significant changes to the Promenade that are in direct correlation to the show's Stage 17 location on the Paramount Studios lot. Devs used the dimensions of the interior locations to recreate them in the game.

It's a fascinating read about how they show is being brought into the game, so head on over to the Star Trek Online site to check it out!
