A Research and Development Weekend has been announced for Star Trek Online.
The event runs from today, March 5, through March 9 at 10a PT. A few bonuses will be doled out, so dive in if interested.
All R&D packs will provide a 25% increase in items, and queue R&D material reward packages will provide 25% more R&D materials with a chance to award you with a catalyst.
You also might want to check out harvest nodes since they will provide two extra R&D materials and 10 dilithium ore with a chance for a catalyst.
Bonus Commendation XP will also be dealt for completing any duty officer assignments, namely, a 50% increase in all Commendation XP.
Academy particle scanning events will be available as part of the Junior Officer Appreciation event. Scanning particles will train the cadet and release a new random duty officer to you from your faction:
- Scan a minimum of 5 traces to be rewarded a Common Duty Officer
- Scan a minimum of 25 traces to be rewarded a Uncommon Duty Officer
- Scan a minimum of 50 traces to be rewarded a Rare Duty Officer
- Scan a minimum of 75 traces to be rewarded a Very Rare Duty Officer
