Theaters of War was the main focus of the latest Star Citizen dev stream.
If you’re unfamiliar with Theaters of War, it’s effectively some combination of Arena Commander and Star Marine. The purpose is for testing various features like combat, vehicles, and more. Because Theaters of War should be compatible with the work in the persistent universe, the learnings in this mode should – in theory – carry over to the larger game.
A Q&A was also on hand, primary regarding player latency. To their credit, the team was quick to point out that Theaters of War will have similar issues with latency. However, because this mode is effectively a testbed, it’s meant to sort out exactly these types of things.
