Remember that lawsuit between Star Citizen’s Cloud Imperium Games and Crytek? Well it appears to have been settled.
To recap, the lawsuit largely revolved around Crytek’s engine, CryEngine, and whether or not CIG was licensed to use it for development of Star Citizen. CIG had claimed that by switching to another engine, Lumberyard, no contract breach was had.
They had even requested a dismissal,
“The real reason Crytek wants to walk away from its SQ42 claim is because Crytek can no longer delay the inevitable reckoning that its claim is and has always been meritless.”
Well, it appears that the lawsuit has been settled through an agreement. Right now, it doesn’t look like any details have been shared other than,
“…they have reached an agreement in principle of terms to settle this action in its entirety and are working to document the terms of their agreement.”
30 days have been requested to file a joint stipulation of dismissal.
