Travian will be publishing Shroud of the Avatar in multiple regions including Europe. The deal was announced earlier today. Travian will distribute the game in Europe, South America, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Something of a firestorm has cropped up on the Shroud of the Avatar forum with yesterday's announcement that the QA server, QA Bug Forums and Release Instructions are now going to be available to all backers regardless of financial commitment. According to Starr Long, this is being done to remove potential advantages gained by those who had previously had exclusive access to these areas.

Last week we got the chance to talk with Richard Garriott about the state of Shroud of the Avatar and all the upcoming milestones for the game. Many people continue to watch the progress of the game closely as backers and players get ready for the full release of the game. Early Alpha and Beta phases have been tested heavily by fans. If you've been on the fence about trying out Shroud of the Avatar, you'll have an extended period in which to do so. From July 3rd through July 26th, anyone can try out the game for free, though with a series of limitations.

Portalarium has announced that it has inked a deal with Black Sun Game Publishing to bring Shroud of the Avatar to Russia and other CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. According to Richard Garriott, Black Sun is an experienced team that understands its community and that it is ideally suited to the task of bringing SotA to the region.

In addition, the "one true Oracle" is working her way through the design process from concept to becoming part of the game world.

Folks will need to create an account and download the client to get started and get familiar with the limitations of the event. You can take part from today through April 10th.
