Secret World Legends

During a recent Funcom livestream game director Romain "Tilty" Amiel revealed that The Secret World Issue #14 will take place in Egypt and that well known characters in the game will receive some expanded storylines. Players will learn more of their past rather than move along the main story arc.

Funcom has revealed the new membership perks for The Secret World. Members will receive a number of pretty cool boons including 30% bonus XP, 10% item store discount, token capacity increase and more.

The Secret World has been updated with a new 'hotfix' patch that brings Issue 13's side missions online. Players can now play Furious Road, Pieces of Jack, The Corpse and the Key and A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit Jung. In addition, several key items and features have had bug fixes applied to resolve issues including better animation of Orochi Sky Drones and Buckler Drones.

Funcom’s The Secret World is gearing up for the release of Issue 13 this week and there are quite a lot of things that are happening. Issue 13 is a brand new issue that people can purchase. It comes packed with five new missions, a host of achievements, rewards and more. We had the opportunity to speak with Romain Amiel about Issue 13, something he and the team are clearly very excited about.

A group of intrepid The Secret World players have joined together in an effort to raise $10,000 for the Malala Fund, a humanitarian organization founded by Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history. The project is being undertaken without any company or corporate sponsorship or endorsement and has worked via social media and events to raise nearly $7,000 already.

Funcom has announced that its horror-themed game, The Park, will be launching on both XBox One and PlayStation 4. The Park is expected to be released for consoles in early 2016. The Park is tied loosely to The Secret World, set in the haunting amusement park from Kingsmouth.

Funcom has announced that the next two Nightmare Raids are now live in The Secret World. Players can take on these new ultra-difficult modes to earn some epic rewards. Flappy has returned but has a new AEGIS mechanic to challenge even the most battle-hardened veteran of the game. In addition, players return to face the Eidolon, who spreads even more insanity and madness.

Reuters is reporting that Funcom has accepted a fine levied against the company by the Norwegian Authority for Investigation & Prosecution of Economic & Environmental Crime. The fine came due to financial reporting irregularities surrounding the launch of The Secret World and in the months between October 2011 through August 2012. The fine equals nearly $178,900 USD.

A snippet of this month's The Secret World newsletter hints at a dungeon that is in development that will "contain interesting challenges" for players. According to the post, bosses will utilize Aegis tactics and heretofore unseen ways.

This week, The Secret World players will get a chance to sink their fangs into the first part of Issue 12: The Dark Tower Below, the next expansion in The Secret World's roughly biannual update schedule. With a focus on challenging group content and tidying up some of the loose ends in The Secret World's design, Issue 12 feels pretty substantial. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of that content, and I came away very impressed.

The Secret World site has been updated with a brief look at some of the interesting new features that will come to the game with the arrival of Issue #12.

Funcom has unveiled the third anniversary event boons and bonuses for The Secret World. Players will be able to score event bags that can include new hippie outfits or a Mythos Machine Motorcycle. Bohemian Bags also drop that can include a Bohemian Party Sack that gives up to 20 players surrounding the one opening it a special prize.
