A Time of Change

The past couple of weeks have been big ones for fans of The Secret World. Between the latest producer's letter and the first information about Update 6, a lot of new information has come along. PvP Changes Coming in Update 6

The Secret World's blog has been updated with new information about forthcoming changes in the PvP system. A new feature will be introduced called "Battle Ranks" that will reward PvP-specific experience for player kills. When the experience bar fills, players will be rewarded with "Distinction of the Council" currency which can be spent on PvP rewards.


Joel Bylos Takes on New Role at Funcom

Funcom has announced that Joel Bylos will be taking on a new role with the company. He will be the Creative Director for the centralized live team in charge of Age of Conan, The Secret World and Anarchy Online.


Last Train to Cairo Previewed

A new post has cropped up on The Secret World's official site that brings Indiana Jones to mind. Players are given a hint to next month's update called "The Last Train to Cairo". The update will feature new main and side quests and a new weapon, the whip. Lastly, the final battle will take place atop a speeding train. If that doesn't scream Indiana Jones, nothing does!

Funcom's Beijing Studio Closing

As part of Funcom's ongoing restructuring, the company's Beijing studio will be closing. The studio was primarily responsible for art and animation for The Secret World. According to Gamasutra, these assets will now be produced by the Funcom studio located in North Carolina, USA.
