The Secret World site has been updated with this month's update. Penned by Romain Amiel, the letter goes in to some detail about the forthcoming final chapter in the Whispering Tide open raid and then, most excitingly, Amiel discusses the upcoming Tokyo update. Additionally, screens are posted to show off the winner of the "get your art in the game" and how it will look in game.

On Wednesday, it was reported here that Funcom's Oslo, Norway offices were raided by the local authorities in connection to the ongoing investigation of stock practices surrounding The Secret World's launch some 18 months or so ago. Today, Erling Ellingsen, Director of Communications for Funcom reached out to MMORPG.com to offer these words.

According to multiple sources, including Norwegian government sources, the Oslo offices of Funcom, developers of Age of Conan and the Secret World, are currently being raided by local police as part of an investigation into possible stock market irregularities during, or slightly before, the launch of The Secret World in the summer of 2012.

The Secret World's site has been updated with the latest Game Director's Letter. This time, however, the letter wasn't actually penned by Joel Bylos but by Lead Designer Romain Amiel. In it, Romain talks about what the team has most recently accomplished and goes on to the exciting news that this year will mark the arrival of Tokyo!

Funcom's Joel Bylos has published the latest state of the game letter for The Secret World. In it, Bylos discusses the events of the last month and gives players a look ahead at seasonal events that are on the way.

Funcom has announced the deployment of the latest update to The Secret World, Issue 8: The Venetian Agenda. This brings the game version up to 1.8.2. The patch contains several key fixes including bug squashing in the GUI and in the scenario system.

MMORPG.com has partnered with Funcom to give out codes for a three day trial to The Secret World along with a 'No Bad Pugs!' t-shirt and trench coat. And yes, that is Managing Editor Bill Murphy on the in-game apparel. We don't blame you if you don't wear his face on your back and/or chest.

The Secret World is getting ready for some big changes and exciting new locations to explore when Issue 8: The Venetian Agenda goes live later this fall. During a developer demo of the Issue 8 augments and scenario system (full article coming later today or early tomorrow from Bill Murphy), Joel Bylos let slip that Issue 8 will be releasing next week giving players full access to the brand new Augments System, Scenarios, and the Council of Venice Story setting up the Issue 9 tale that will take players into Tokyo.

Anyone yet to try out Funcom's The Secret World will want to check into the Steam promotion called the "Massive Edition". The new package includes the original game and all of the Issues to date, the last three of which were paid DLCs.

As if The Secret World isn't spooky enough with Kingsmouth and conspiracy theories and more, the team has cooked up a great Halloween event sure to give players thrills and chills for the season.

"IRL" is a new feature film by well-known director Erik Leijonborg. The premise of the movie is that a young boy is bullied and escapes into the virtual world known as, you guessed it, The Secret World.
