Pugnacious Politics in Second Life -

Today, in the strange but true category, Reuters is reporting on an incident in Spain where real world politics has spilled over into the virtual world of Second life. Spanish political parties are accusing each other of a form of virtual terrorism, saying that rival party members have attempted to burn down each other's party offices in the game.

In the real world, hundreds of thousands of opposition supporters have flooded Spanish streets over the past year, accusing the government of capitulating to Basque separatist guerrillas ETA.

"We have complained to the Second Life commission about the terrorism," a spokesman for the conservative opposition Popular Party said.
