A Sea of Thieves bug is preventing folks from completing a specific voyage.
The bug was reported on Reddit with OP noting,
“Was playing the Shores of Gold Quest, and died while fighting the Gold Hoarder. Spawned back in the new Heart of Fire quest area and was unable to return to the Shores of Gold. Killed myself a few times and still spawned in the fire cavern there but in different spots.”
Indeed, Rock Paper Shotgun noted this as well,
“f you die during your fight with the treasure-hoarding skeleton lord, there’s a chance that instead of respawning inside the same room you’ll be teleported to an entirely different area—the catacombs for the newly-added Hearts Of Fire quest.”
You won’t immediately die here. But nevertheless, it will prevent you from completing this voyage. It’s unknown at this point if Rare are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. Suffice it to say, if you’re encountering this bug, you’re not alone.
