According to Rare, a 540p 15 fps framrate lock has been added to Sea of Thieves so that "you can go below HD" according to Executive Producer Ted Timmins speaking to PC Gamer.
"When we were talking to the community, some people were like, "I'm actually happy playing 15 frames per second." We were like: That's actually really cool, we should support that. If you're enjoying the game, why should we as developers knock you for that?"
Of course, for those who actually want to run the game at high settings, Sea of Thieves will encompass 4K support and 60 fps.
