The next major update to Sea of Thieves, Forsaken Shores, is ready to set sail on September 19th. The announcement came during Gamescom 2018. Players will find a new volcanic location called Devil's Roar, an island that will erupt from time to time that will have a significant impact on players, even to the point of being boiled to death when near the overheated waters around the island. Players will need a rowboat to safely travel from ship to shore.
