Thanks to the successful acquisition of a round of independent funding, the Saga of Lucimia team will be growing in 2018. The core staff will continue to work unpaid "against the promise of future paychecks" once the game launches. However, there are certain things that require expert assistance through independent contractors. It is here that the money will be spent.
With its stance against the idea of microtransactions as a monetization strategy, the team has taken on a number of independent investors who will be funding these new positions in January 2018.
We are supremely humbled by the trust our funding partners have placed in us and our vision for the Saga of Lucimia MMORPG, and we are eternally grateful for the support our early access community has given us since we kicked off our pre-order store. Your belief in our vision is what has allowed us to transition from passionate gamers who didn’t have a clue about what they were doing, into a team of independent game developers who still mostly don’t have a clue about what they’re doing, but who have made a lot of progress through sheer determination.
