Deadman Mode Brings PvP Survival Mode to Old School

Old School Runescape has a new PvP mode for players to check out in the form of Deadman Mode, an intense survival of the fittest battle to the finish. Three of the Old School servers will feature world-enabled PvP where death has some serious consequences.


TCG Tie-In, Chronicle, to Launch CBT November 25th

Runescape fans will be happy to hear that the competitive online TCG tie-in, Chronicle, will be hitting closed beta status on Wednesday, November 25th. The game was well-received during the recently held RuneFest where players got a firsthand look at the new game. Runescape: Chronicle is expected to launch in 2016 for both PC and iPad.


Runefest a Big Success, Highlights Revealed

Jagex has announced that this year's RuneFest was a resounding success with thousands of RuneScape fans in attendance. During the convention, new information was revealed including a new RuneScape questline written by the games founders, Paul & Andrew Gower; new content is incoming for Old School; and the first closed beta for the TCG tie-in, Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, will be coming soon.


Runefest Continues Strong Presence, Tickets Sold Out

Tickets for the Runescape gathering, Runefest, have already sold out and in record time too. Additionally, the number of players utilizing in-game currency to purchase tickets for the fan event rose 10% over last year.


Players Helping to Save Endangered Big Cats

Jagex has announced that Runescape and Old School Runescape players will have the opportunity to participate in in-game events to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to assist in the preservation of big cats in the wild. Players will be able to adopt companion cubs based on wild cats and can earn special titles for their characters.


Runefest Tickets Go On Sale, Virtual Currency Accepted

Jagex has sent word that tickets for this year's Runefest to be held in October are now on sale. In an interesting twist on ticket sales, players can get hold of one for either real world cash or by using virtual Runescape bonds.


RuneLabs Player-Voted Content Heads Into Game

Since January of this year, Runescape developer, Jagex, has been working with the player community to identify and vote on new content to be added to the game. Last week, the first piece of that player-generated content arrived, with the second part to be added later this week.


$10k PvP Tournament Announced for Old School Server

Jagex Game Studio has announced a debut competitive tournament for Old School RuneScape to take place 24th - 26th July. It will have three different game modes: King of the Hill, First to X kills, and Last Team Standing. Aside from the tournament, the game will also get two new slayer bosses and PvP mode: Deadman.


200th Quest Added to the Game

Jagex has sent word that it has reached a milestone by adding the 200th quest to Runescape. The quest sends players back to an alternate Gielinor, a dimension of disaster, where they have never existed. While there, characters are reset to level one as they journey through the quest line. Not to worry, though: All experience and equipment still exists in the 'real' Gielinor.


Old-School Version Turns Two, Adds F2P Features

Fans of the 2007 version of Runescape will want to check out the "Old School" rebooted version of the game as it celebrates its second anniversary. It is even easier to do than before as Jagex, at the behest of its players, is introducing free to play aspects into the game.


February Brings a Heist, a Wildywyrm and Demon Flash Mobs

Runescape has plans galore for February, among them, a new intermediate-level quest (requiring level 30 Thieving and Agility) that sees Zamorak and his most elite crew trying to steal the Stone of Jas from the clutches of the master of shadows, Sliske.


Players & the Power of Runelabs

Jagex Games Studios has announced the release of Runelabs, an evolved feature built on the Player Power initiative launched at the end of 2013. With Runelabs, players can submit ideas for RuneScape and have those ideas voted upon by the community for possible inclusion in the game.


Players Wipe Out Last Year's Charity Giving Record

With a week yet to go, RuneScape players have beaten last year's in-game charity initiative called the Well of Goodwill. During 2013, players raised over $90,000. To date in 2014, the total Jagex is ready to donate to selected charities is over the $120,000 mark with seven more days of giving to go.


Lost City of the Elves Opens Its Gates

Runescape players can now enter the entire Lost City of the Elves, Prifddinas. The city first opened its gates in September and with the latest update, the entire city is available for player exploration. Prifddinas specifically caters to the high level Runescape player community with several features that can only be found here.


RuneFest 2014 "Most Successful to Date"

The folks at Jagex are doing a happy dance right about now, since the successful completion of London's RuneFest 2014. Since its 2010 start, the event has been getting bigger and bigger.
