Old School Theatre of Blood Raid Invites Players to Drop By for a Drink

Old School Runescape players have a new raid to try out called the Theatre of Blood. The raid is considered the sequel to the Chambers of Xeric raid and was voted into the game by over 40,000 players. As the name implies, vampyres of Morytania are anxious to meet the warm, red-blooded denizens of the game world.


Solak, Guardian of Lost Grove Arrives with Nifty AR Snapcode

RuneScape players have found that the game's biggest and toughest boss, Solak, Guardian of the Lost Grove, has made a return to the world he left behind millenia ago. Up to seven players can choose to take on this high-level, end-game boss. There are two ways to try to bring him down: In 2-player mode or group mode.


Classic Version to Close Down In the Coming Months

Jagex has announced that it will be closing down Runescape Classic over the course of the next few months. The team wrote that the current development tools used for Runescape and Old School Runescape are now incompatible with the Classic version that becomes a problem "with our community safety and macro detection tools" that can lead to abuse by 3rd party bot programs and macros.


Runefest 2018 Tickets Now On Sale

If you're ready for the next Runescape adventure, look no further than Runefest 2018. Tickets are now on sale for the annual fan festival that will take place in a brand new facility in the United Kingdom and will also include the Runescape Live concert performed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.This year's event will take place in Farnborough on October 5-6, 2018.


Jagex Raises $300k to Support a Trio of Mental Health Charities

Runescape developer, Jagex, has announced that it has raised $300,000 in support of a trio of mental health charities. Funds were raised by the Jagex community through a variety of means including in-game content, sharing the charity fundraising page and more. Supported charities include The Prince's Trust, CPSL Mind and the YMCA Right Here.


Pieces of Hate Quest Line Brings 13-Year-Old Story to an End

RuneScape players logging in today will find themselves part of a history-making event that sees a 13-year-old story finally reach its conclusion. The Pirate Quest series challenges will see the beginning of the end with the arrival of the Pieces of Hate quest line that players will embark upon. But wait! That's not all. The Pieces of Hate quest line also "contributes to the foundations of RuneScape's next five years of rich narratives and immersive adventures."


Clue Scrolls Overhauled - New Chances to Snatch Valuable In-Game Items

Runescape players will be able to check out the Clue Scrolls revamp after today's release. The overhaul is in direct response to player feedback provided to the dev team through the 2017 player survey. The Clue Scrolls system allows players to "snatch the most valuable in-game rewards in the Treasure Trails activity". As part of the update, players will also be able to take part in the "eye-wateringly-difficult Master Tier of riddles & puzzles" that can bring even greater rewards.


Old School Version Popping Champagne Corks for Its 5th Anniversary

Jagex is ready to throw a party in celebration of Old School Runescape and its fifth anniversary. Players will find a brand new adventure that will see players assisting Da Vinci as he works on a new painting. Successful completion of the event will see players score "the iconic sword emblazoned in the game's logo".


Dragon Slayer II Challenges the Toughest of the Tough to Launch the Game's 5th Anniversary

Old School Runescape players will be challenged with a new grandmaster quest called Dragon Slayer II. The quest is the "sequel to one of the most iconic adventures in RuneScape history". The new adventure begins today as part of the fifth anniversary celebration for OSR.


Players Embark on a Mysterious Journey to Find Santa

RuneScape players will be able to take part in a holiday mystery starting today. Called "The G-Nome Project", activity centers around the disappearance of Santa after turning his clockwork gnome into a real boy. This continues the story started in November and brings it to a close IF Santa can be found.

Ghost Stories of Gielinor Sends You on Spooky Adventures

RuneScape and Old School RuneScape players can head into the game today to take part in the thrills and chills of the season. RuneScape players will take part in Ghost Stories of Gielinor that sends them "through pages of spooky tales across the game world". Once all pages are collected, the Ghastly Grimoire is complete. Old School RuneScape players will try to find and defeat "Jonas, a hockey mask-like wearing killer stalking the world".


Spend 10 Days in the Dimension of the Damned

Runescape players can take part in an all-new competitive adventure called the Dimension of the Dead. For ten days, players will be challenged to survive the zombie challenge. The event takes place in a "parallel Runescape universe" with the challenge coming to a final showdown where top players compete to be named King or Queen of the Damned on October 28th. Players will score in game items, a year's Premier Club membership and even an all-expense paid trip to Jagex!


Old School Version Going Ancient School with Fossil Island

Old School Runescape is going positively ANCIENT with the addition of the Fossil Island update that brings lava flows and "secrets millions of years old". Fossil Island is exclusive to Old School RuneScape and is available for players of all levels.


Achievement UI & Functionality Updated in Latest Patch

The latest RuneScape patch has been released with a couple of big changes. First, the UI and functionality of the Achievement System has been updated. Players will find a more intuitive "flow" to gaining achievements as well as be able to determine their "score". In addition, a simple right-click of another player offers a selection to view their achievement score. This allows friends and guildmates to see who really has bragging rights.
