German powerhouse publisher Gameforge has purchased a 60% stock majority in Frogster Interactive Pictures, the folks behind Runes of Magic. According to GamesIndustry.biz, Frogster will maintain 15% of stocks, with 25% being floated to the open market.
Frogster said that despite the acquisition, the business "shall be sustained as an independent company with its current management and team at its existing locations, with its own culture and its successful brand names."
Interestingly, Frogster America's CEO is former Gameforge president Lars Koschin.
What the impact will be on Frogster's titles remains to be seen. Frogster is ambitiously set to publish TERA and Mythos in Europe in the next year or so.
