Comb your mullet, grab your boom box and put on your big-shouldered jackets and baggy pants! Rocket League is getting ready to kick off its Radical Summer that will see the game revisit some of the biggest franchises of the 80s. The event will last nine weeks beginning June 10th. Players will be able to score free items, check out new Premium Licensed DLC, limited time game modes and more.

This extremely choice event is split into three celebrations of the 1980s: Blockbusters, Culture, and Television. Each celebration lasts three weeks. Similar to previous events, play Online Matches to earn ‘Cassettes’ and redeem them for in-game, '80s-themed items all summer long. Radical Summer's Event Store will change for each phase of Radical Summer, bringing in new items for your Battle-Car. And don’t worry, at the end of the event, we’ll give you a week to redeem Cassettes for any items you may have missed.

Franchises making their way into Rocket League include Back to the Future, E.T., The Goonies, Karate Kid, WWE, Voltron Legendary Defender, Ghostbusters, and Knight Rider. In fact, K.I.T.T. and Ecto-1 will be part of the Premium Licensed DLC.

The three limited modes will be themed around 80s Blockbusters (Jun10-July 1), 80s Culture (July 1-22) and 80s Television (July 22 - August 12).

Check out the full preview on the Rocket League site.
