Freejam has announced that Robocraft has officially entered its beta phase of development. The big day comes along with a massive update that brings overhauled gameplay, reworked maps and much more on board.

Over ten million players took part during alpha testing with many providing crucial input that was key to some of the changes coming into the game today.

Most notably:

  • normal mode has changed to 5v5 that brings more individuality to matches along with a more user-friendly UI
  • every map has been replaced and visuals improved to make them more suited to 5v5
  • better, more balanced matchmaking that assigns each player an ELO score
  • the new Protonite Core mechanic has been added that helps out teams that are behind by providing an opportunity to "catch up"

Robocraft will exit Early Access later this year, with the move into Beta marking a key moment in the game’s evolution since it first appeared on Steam. Regularly in the Top 10 F2P game chart on Steam, Robocraft has grown from humble beginnings into a hugely popular game played by millions across the world.

You can learn more about the game on the Robocraft site.
