Fans of Team Fortress 2 will want to check out a new deal hammered out between Trion Worlds and Valve. Folks preordering Rift on Steam will automatically be given two free Rift-inspired TF2 melee weapons called the “Sharpened Volcano Fragment” and “Sun-on-a-stick.” TF2 players also have the chance to score an achievement that will give them the "Well Spun Hat" in Rift.
All Steam pre-order customers will receive the weapons, including those who’ve already purchased Rift through the digital platform. This offer is available to Steam users worldwide. Item Descriptions:
- Sharpened Volcano Fragment – Melee weapon for the Pyro
- Sun-on-a-stick – Melee weapon for the Scout
- Well Spun Hat – Cosmetic head slot item used to intimidate and frighten other players
