Rift is set to get a brand new full expansion. Called The Starfall Prophecy, the expansion comes with a level cap increase to 70, five new zones, new dungeons, a new raid (post launch), new Legendary abilities that fundamentally alter how souls play, the Planar Fragment system, Planar Assault instances, Fortress Sieges, and loads more.

Rift will be getting a significant update today with the deployment of the v3.7 Summer Solstice patch. Several souls have undergone big changes and will be released today, including the Warrior-Warlord, Primalist-Berserker, Cleric-Druid and Mage-Elementalist.

Rift is celebrating its fifth anniversary with the release of its latest challenging raid called the Comet of Ahnket. Parties of ten will take on planar evils and be able to score some of the most epic gear in the game to date.

Trion Worlds has a brief post about the newest Intrepid Adventure set to launch in Rift on May 11th. Called the Mind of Madness, players will take on more than a few bosses, each worse than the last, until they meet up with the Arisen Lord Arak. Those completing the adventure will be awarded some pretty awesome gear including items with appearances similar to those found within the Mind of Madness raid.

Trion Worlds has announced a new Rift Essentials Edition, a new edition of the game tailor made for players who want to jump into the game and have access to all of the game's Souls and content. Priced at $49.99, the Essentials Edition will be available to anyone until May 11th, subsequently available only to new players during their first week of game play.

Rift’s 3.6 update, Celebration of the Ascended, launches today on April 13th, and were fortunate enough to get an early look at all that’s being crammed into this patch: five new souls (one for each calling), tons of new Carnival of the Ascended events and rewards, new planar attunement unlocks, new mounts, and yes full multicore support!

Rift's annual celebration, Carnival of the Ascended, will begin on April 14, 2016, as part of v3.6 update. Special events will be taking place including a Carnival Instant Adventure, new Artifact sets, a new story raid rifts, daily quests and much more.

The Rift fifth anniversary is continuing this wee with a bigger focus on prizes and increased rewards for taking part in Warfronts. Players can earn anniversary tickets by taking part in zone events, Chronicles, Instant Adventures -- in short, just about anything that can be done in Rift. Tickets can then be exchanged for prizes and rewards.

As Trion gets ready to kick of Rift's fifth anniversary, the team announced that players have put in over fifty-five THOUSAND years of game time over the course of the game's life. From today through April 5th, players will be able to earn anniversary tickets by completing zone events, random dungeons and Warfronts, and weekly crafting quests. Tickets can be exchanged for mounts, dimensions, jewelry and more.
