On Friday Trion Worlds announced that the much-anticipated Rift Prime server will be named Vigil, giving folks the opportunity to put a much heated response for other choices to rest. Immediately focus shifted to getting prepared for Prime. Are you ready?

Late last week, Trion devs participated in a Rift Prime server Q&A and we've got the wrap report from the event. If you've been wondering how the whole Prime thing will be going down when it launches on March 7th, be sure to check it out.

Trion Worlds has announced that the subscription-only Rift Prime server will be launching on March 7th. As announced last month, the Prime server will "return us to the launch of Rift" when the cap was level 50 and at a time without boosts, supply crates, no equipment or bags in the Store and more. "This is the world of Rift before free-to-play".

Last week Trion Worlds announced Rift Prime servers sparking a lot of curiosity and questions. We gathered some of your thoughts a long with ours and are very grateful Archonix took the time to respond.

The latest producer's letter has been published on the Rift site to take a look back at the accomplishments in 2017 as well as to introduce a new server type called "Rift Prime". These servers will see players start fresh and will feature both a subscription revenue model and progression advancement through the game's expansions and content. There will be no lockboxes, a "significantly reduced store" and more current store items available through game play.

On December 20th 2017, a tragic accident occurred taking the life of teenager Nikita Hedingham also known in Rift on her personally created character as Wintercharm. This heart wrenching news reached the Rift gaming community via her mother sending shock waves of disbelief and sadness into a community that is fairly tight knit especially within the dimension building sector that Wintercharm was a well-loved member.

Earlier today, a $100 Rift loot crate that contained the chance for a premium mount raised the ire of the game's community. Subsequently, it was removed from the in-game shop, an action that was explained briefly by Community Manager Linda Brasse. In a new post on Reddit, Trion Worlds CEO Scott Hartsman has a more extended letter to the community.

UPDATE: The Rift forum has an update from the Trion Team. ORIGINAL: The Rift Reddit has been awash with controversy over Trion's recently added $100 loot box that can contain a random premium mount. These special boxes, Orphiel's Mount Crates, are available from now through the end of the month and contain a premium mount that can be traded. There are 42 possible premium mounts inside.

In Rift, the Autumn Harvest will arrive starting on October 26th. During the seasonal activity, players can complete special events to earn rewards including new costume masks, a broom mount and Hag's Curse stat item. In addition, players can purchase the Mummified Powerpack with a ton of neat stuff for $20. Players will score the Wraps of the Mummy Squirrel, 3000 credits, 15 days of Premium time, and a Packmaster's Reward Cache.

Telara will be celebrating the return of Autumn Harvest. Rift players will be able to start taking part in the events on October 26th and be able to continue the fun through November 16th. During the event, there is a new dimension modeled after the Iron Tomb. There are new masks to collect, raven wings, necklaces and much more. Autumn Harvest is a good way to celebrate this week's release of Crucia's Claw too!

In July we bought you a preview of Rift 4.2:Celestial Storm. Following this update, on October 25th Trion Worlds will release 4.3 with two major updates: "Bastion of Steel" 10 man raid and “Mystic Archer” - a new soul for the Mage class.

Crucia's Claw is the next content expansion coming to Rift on October 25th. Players can expect to find a brand new Soul called the Mystic Archer as well as a brand new raid called Bastion of Steel.

The Rift Dimension Gallery site has been updated with a new post that lays out some exciting news for Dimensioneers. On Wednesday, October 4th, Dimensions item caps will be increasing while costs to upgrade dimensions is decreasing.

Former Rift players are being invited to return to the game between now and August 15th. Those who do will receive a nice list of rewards including a costume cape, upgrade items and more. While there, players can take part in Summerfest with special quests, artifact pinatas and lots more.
