Red Dead Online players can celebrate American Independence Day with some steep discounts from Wheeler, Rawson & Co. as well as leverage a whopping 30% bonus RDO$ & XP for all Free Roam missions. Players will also take home free Gun Oil to keep their weaponry in "tip-top shape".

Xbox One players can now get their hands on the Ancient Tomahawk and take part in the Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk Showdown Mode. Previously, both were only available to PlayStation 4 players. Xboxers can also get hold of other previously PS4 content including the Perlino Andalusian Horse, Belanger Saddle, Finley Jacket, Stenger Studded Spurs, Caldwell Hat and two emotes, "Boast" and "Hey, you". Finally, Last Stand free-for-all is out for XB1.

Red Dead Online players will want to check into the game to take advantage of a +30% bonus to XP and RDO$ in Make it Count with the Bow & Arrow or Throwing Knives events and the Gun Rush event. The bonus buff will be active all week, so it's a great time to ride on into the game.

Red Dead Online has been updated to bring the Sport of Kings Showdown Mode into the game. During the event, teams of up to eight players shoot it out with Sawed-off Shotguns to capture a torch needed to light their team's signal fire.

This week's Red Dead Online update has been deployed to bring the Public Enemy event into the game. During Public Enemy, one player on each team is declare a persona non grata. The goal is to kill the opposite team's Public Enemy to score points.

The latest challenge activity for Red Dead Online is the Wild Animal Kills Challenge that awards players points based on the size of the animal and can even include extra points for "prized" and "dangerous" predators. As the focus is squarely on the hunt itself, PvP activities are disabled during the Free Roam Event.

Red Dead Online has been updated to bring some brand new Free Roam missions into the game that feature fan favorites from Red Dead Redemption 2. Both Sadie Adler and gunslinger Black Belle make an appearance. PS4 players can also try out the Ancient Tomahawk weapon, take part in two new Showdown Modes, Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk and Last Stand. Lastly, PS4 players have access to the Perlino Andalusian Horse and several new clothing items and emotes. These will come to XB1 at a later date.

Red Dead Online has received a huge new update today that includes tons of new content including cooperative story missions, expanded Free Roam Missions, the addition of competitive fishing, the addition new dynamic events, the ability to play poker in town, and the inclusion of the Overrun Showdown Mode. As always, there are new items in the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue.

There are a lot of little pieces of news with regard to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Redemption Online that came during Rockstar's investor's call yesterday. Everything from rumors of a PC release to RDO leaving beta testing this summer are all part and parcel.

Red Dead Online players on Xbox One can now take part in Open Target Races. The event is now active for both PlayStation 4 players and Xbox One players alongside a 30% bonus to RDO$ and Gold on all Land of Opportunity Missions, Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, all Showdown Modes and Gun Rush.

Red Dead Online players will want to head to their camp lockbox or to the town Post Office to grab this week's care package that contains a number of useful Potent Tonics. In addition, Showdown, Race and Gun Rush modes are all offering players 1.5X more RDO$ and Gold. Land of Opportunity Missions, Free Roam Missions and Free Roam Events will also yield 1.5X Gold.

Red Dead Online players have a new Showdown Mode to check out this week thanks to the arrival of Plunder. Essentially, players work in teams to locate and fight for supplies in a central location, then return them to the team's base. Players can also pillage opponent's bases for even more supplies....if they live.

Starting today, Red Dead Online players can enjoy the new Up in Smoke Showdown Mode. Players begin with an explosive package and work to deliver it to the enemy's base in an attempt to blow up a piece of their camp. The more delivered, the more destruction and the first team to decimate the opponent, wins.

Red Dead Online's beta has been updated to bring the new Target Races to players. During this event, players will race through a special course on horseback while shooting targets along the way. The goal is, of course, to be the first to cross the finish line.

Red Dead Online anglers will have a chance to show off their fishing prowess thanks to the Fishing Challenge added to this week's Competitive Challenge as part of the free roam event rotation. Cowpokes will try to not only tell the biggest whopper of a story, but also to back it up with the heaviest fish across three different bodies of water: Lakes, Swamps and Rivers.
