e-Games.com.ph starts open beta on Tuesday

Filipino gamers can now experience the freedom of being able to play for free forever starting on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, when IP Interactive officially starts its open beta testing of RAN Online and O2Jam.

According to Steve Tsao, chief operating officer of IP Interactive, the public can now access these games simply by registering at their online gaming portal, e-Games.com.ph.

“This is in time for our commercial launch set before the end of the first quarter of 2006,” Tsao said.

IP Interactive is pioneering the free to play concept locally. Unlike other gaming portals that require a certain fee from players of their games, all games offered by e-Games.com.ph are free to play. However, gamers may choose to buy in-game items to enhance their gaming experience.

Tsao said his company is excited because this is the first time that an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) set in modern times is being introduced locally.

RAN Online features a modern-day, full 3D Oriental campus style setting where the students have to defend their school against dangerous and evil monsters.

O2Jam, on the other hand, a “beatmania” type of casual game, is the first online music game to ever hit the Philippines.
