Today was Day One here in Atlanta for the Smite World Championship, otherwise known as the Placement round. Two teams were eliminated today, leaving eight teams to move on. Cloud 9 (NA) and Paradigm (EU) have byes in the first round, so there are eight games to be played, and teams need to lose two to be eliminated.
Hey there Smite fans! Once again, Hi-Rez has graciously invited MMORPG to cover their Smite World Championship, held at the Cobb Energy Center, in Atlanta, Georgia, from January 7th -10th. If last year’s SWC is anything to judge by, Smite fans will be in for quite an event.
Greetings Crusaders, long time no see. We've been really busy killing Traitors in the Eternal Crusade Alpha test. Recently we had a chance to chat with Nathan Richardsson about that same Alpha test, and ask a few questions about the future of the game.
At June’s E3 event in Los Angeles we got to speak with some of the good folk over at Stoic, and also some hands-on time with Banner Saga 2, and let me tell you, as a huge fan of Banner Sage, this game looks to be an amazing extension of its well-received progenitor.
Let's do a quick rundown of what we learned at E3: Early Access is coming, and sooner rather than later, the game engine has been determined and revealed, and while no dates have been established yet, Eternal Crusade will be coming to Xbone and PS4. There are also new screenies and a new trailer coming, but those things are less exciting than the big three, which we will now look at a little closer.
Last week, at E3, I had the opportunity to meet with Vladimir Piskunov, the CEO of Bitbox and see Life is Feudal, for the first time. My goal was to see just what features and systems were featured in this pure sandbox game. To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be something of an understatement. Vladimir is incredibly polite and passion for this project just exudes from him. He is also a realist and pretty insightful about games, sandbox games in particular.
If you think Mad Max crossed with Spore and you will have a good idea of what this game is all about: design and build your own post-apocalyptic murder vehicle, then test it in arena-style combats versus other psychotic mechanics.
Greetings fellow Crusaders, we're back for a look at what's new in the world of Eternal Crusade, and boy do we have some juicy stories this week! The two things we are going to look at are both recent revelations: first, we learned that there is currently a target lock being considered for melee combat, and this has long been a bone of contention amongst the community, with opinions sharply divided.
Hail and well-met, fellow Crusaders, it is once again time for us to look at what's new in the world of Eternal Crusade. Lots of things to talk about this week, good news for Ork players, the revelation of the winner of the Eldar fifth sub- faction vote, and some changes to the Founder's Program and the store, so let's dive right in.
Hey there MMORPG fans, Terry here, coming at you with a review of Neverwinter on the X-BONE. Full disclosure, I have a couple of hundred hours logged into the PC version of the game, so there is not a lot here that surprised me, as far as gameplay and plot goes, but that's really a GOOD thing, because it means that the 'port to Xbox was done right!
Greetings fellow Crusaders, and welcome to this week's look at the development of Eternal Crusade, a Warhammer 40K-based massive multiplayer third-person shooter. This week we are going to talk about Senior Producer Nathan Richardsson's latest State of the Crusade post, some recent news revealed on the Eternal Crusade twitch show, and some of the more interesting conversations taking place on the Eternal Crusade forums.
Greetings fellow Crusaders, and it's time for another look into the world of Eternal Crusade. Actually, this week we are going to look, not only at Eternal Crusade, but at some other Games Workshop titles that are currently in production that have piqued my interest.
Recently, at PAX East, I had an opportunity to play Gigantic, Motiga's upcoming entry into the “Action-MOBA” genre. Let's start by getting a few things straight, when I say an action-MOBA, I do not mean a LOL or DOTA clone. This is the new breed of MOBA, more in the style of Smite, which means immersive third-person action, where every attack is a skill-shot.
We just got back from PAX East, and one of the games I took a good look at at was a slick ARPG called Grim Dawn. Currently in production by Crave Entertainment, Grim Dawn is very reminescent of old-school Diablo and Diablo two, with a dark color palette, and some very neat ideas. Now, I must confess to having a soft spot for ARPGs, and any game in the same vein as the venerated Diablo I and II is going to strike very near my heart.
