I have to be honest. I didn’t play as much World of Warcraft this week due to swinging wildly through New York City in glorious 30fps. (Spider-Man. I was playing Spider-Man). However, I did manage to traipse through Azeroth this week. I finally -- FINALLY -- completed the Siege of Boralus mythic dungeon with the help of my buddy and MacWorld Editor, Leif Johnson, who kept us all healed.
So yeah...I’ve been playing a lot of World of Warcraft in the last week. If you recall, I had just hit level 120 in my previous journal. I also felt like the mightiest dwarf in all of Azeroth. I was told by my WoW veteran friends that the “real” game doesn’t start until after I’ve hit 120. And, well, they were right.
Another week, more World of Warcraft. For continuing up-to-the-minute updates on my WoW progress, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@ShankTheTank). So then, what did I do this week? Let’s dive right in.

The perennial balance between budget and quality comes face to face with the ONIKUMA Gaming Headset K5. Where does it land? And who is it for?
Not one week ago, I too like Butters proclaimed, “I don’t play World of Warcraft.” Little did I know how much that would change. You see, I’m a complete newb. Yes, this dude right here -- the man writing this article on a website literally called “MMORPG” -- had never played World of Warcraft.
This past weekend, a few journalists and myself were flown out to Las Vegas to cover the H1Z1 Pro League (I’m working on a full editorial with my thoughts on the whole event for GameSpace, so stay tuned). We were also shown off some PS4 footage for the reveal announcement yesterday. I had the opportunity to sit down with Tony Morton, Lead Systems and Combat Designer, and pick his brain on some of the technical details, mechanics, and yes, Fortnite.
H1Z1, the free to play Battle Royale game on Steam from Daybreak Games, is coming to PS4. In a press release today, Daybreak Games has revealed that H1Z1 has been tuned specifically around console and the console gamer.
All we had to do was find the nearest Resistance Cache House. The low sun drifting majestically through suburbia masked the unadulterated chaos that was about to transpire. Myself along with fellow writer, Joseph Bradford, and our other two friends, Pete and Ralph, were tasked with finding the nearest Resistance Cache House. This is Earthfall, a new co-op shooter that’s on Steam’s Early Access.
Hunt: Showdown’s concept had me intrigued ever since I first got wind about it last year. You and a partner are Hunters tasked to hunt down a monster in a hauntingly beautiful map by following clues using your Dark Sight (think Arkham Asylum Detective Mode). Along the way, you’ll have to avoid gloriously grotesque creatures who are all trying to kill you. In short, find monster. Kill monster. Banish monster. Evacuate.
