Anthem is having a bad week. The game got a surprise injection of new content in a patch rolled out this week, but the news that followed was the bigger story. BioWare announced that the team is essentially delaying most of the Act 1 content roadmap to focus on dealing with the game’s critical issues. With things moving at such a glacial pace as it is, I don’t see this ending well. And frankly, this week’s patch didn’t do nearly enough to soften such a blow.
The Division 2 got off to a good start with a solid launch, but it’s now clear that there are issues with the endgame. Recently, the team put together a post addressing most of TD2’s often discussed concerns along with plans on how they’ll be dealing with them. Those plans are why we’ve learned that Title Update 3, scheduled to release on April 25, is now set to drop in May.
The looter shooter is a hard genre of game to get right, but Gearbox managed to get pretty close with its series of Borderlands games. As fun as they were, it’s important not to look back on them with rose tinted glasses. There were definitely some areas I’d have liked to see improved and I’m hoping Borderlands 3 will address the issues and also add some new features along the way.
It’s been a long time, but Gearbox finally took the wraps off Borderlands 3 at this year’s PAX East and boy did it look awesome. And as awesome as it did look, the presentation was unfortunately scant on details. Fast forward a couple of days later and we’ve learned quite a bit more about the newest entry in the series, with details on characters, weapons, platforms and more. Let’s recap.
Tell us your favorite MapleStory M class and you'll be entered to win a gift pack ($50 value) for the game!
Capitalizing on the momentum of a successful launch, Ubisoft isn’t wasting any time improving the game and adding new content to The Division 2. Yesterday’s live streamed State of the Game detailed updates coming today and announced that the game’s first content update will release next week. Let’s recap.
Anthem’s unfortunately necessary redemption arc begun recently with some critical buffs to the game’s loot (summon the loot!) and if yesterday’s livestream indicates anything, next week’s patch will continue the important work needed to turn the game around. Let’s recap.
We’ve been playing The Division 2 in early access the last few days and there’s just a ton to take in with this game. With The Division 2 launching for everyone later this evening, we figured this would be a great opportunity to highlight some tips to start you out on the right foot.
Watching Massive’s Endgame info dump livestream yesterday, I found myself nodding so often I could have probably hurt my neck. I can’t possibly speak to how good of a game The Division 2 will end up being at this point, but one thing’s for sure, it won’t be lacking in endgame content.
I want to let you all in on a little secret: the Ranger is an AOE powerhouse. Don’t let anyone tell you that the Ranger’s only good at single target damage. His combo effect and many of his abilities definitely lean that way, but who cares? The Ranger is one of the best javelins in Anthem when it comes to just blowing s**t up and I’ll tell you how.
With so many disastrous launches for looter shooters (and other live service games) over the past few years, surely Anthem would learn from the mistakes of its peers and not subject players excited for the game to yet another redemption arc. Right?
In all the years I’ve been doing this, I don’t think I’ve ever gone into a review anxious. I’ve been looking forward to Anthem since its announcement at EA Play in 2017, but that demo EA put out a couple of weeks ago rattled me. I’ve only spent a couple of hours with the launch version of the game, but I’m glad to be able to report that, at least so far, things are looking a whole lot better.
Anthem drops in about a week for Origin Access Premier players and in roughly two weeks for everyone else. While we expect there will be a ton of changes between the demo and the full game, these are some ability build ideas to roll with when you jump into the full version of Anthem.
You know that feeling of excitement you get when you start a new Fallout game and exit the Vault for the first time? The light blinds you momentarily and then your eyes adjust and you see the wide world in front of you, ripe for exploration. I got that feeling when I loaded into Anthem’s beautiful world for the first time, too. And then I moved.
BioWare’s been working over the last month or so to polish up a demo of Anthem and today players will finally be able to get their hands on it. Before you jump in , there are a couple of things to know about the demo.
