Nostalgia’s been the name of the game over the last few years, not just in games, but in all of media, and even fashion. For games, this has meant countless remasters and remakes from Crash Bandicoot to the amazing Resident Evil 2.
Part and parcel of the evolution of the MMO genre has been a drive to make things more convenient and efficient, for better and worse. But unlike MMOs, some of these features would be pure upgrades for real life. Here are a couple of MMO features I’d love to have IRL.
Once the yearly Thanksgiving ritual of consuming a ridiculous amount of food is complete, it’ll be time for a bit of gaming. I haven’t had tons of time to game lately, so I plan on taking full advantage of the extra time this weekend to work through my backlog.
As much as I want to play Jedi: Fallen Order, the Mandalorian’s got me itching for some bounty hunter action, and if you’re feeling the same, I’d like to recommend you check out the Bounty Hunter class in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
After last year’s disappointing BlizzCon, there was only one game and one game only I wanted to see at BlizzCon 2019 and that game was Diablo IV. After dropping one of the best Blizzard cinematics the studio has ever released, we got our first look at D4 gameplay and I was all for it.
Borderlands 3 is an incredibly fun game, but it’s not without issues. Gearbox has been making strides towards addressing some of them in hotfixes and some recent patches, but there’s still lots more to do.
It’s been almost three years since Star Wars: The Old Republic got a new expansion. While I’m the sort of player who only returns to SWTOR for new story content, I’ve still been eagerly awaiting the game’s next big story drop. Despite some misgivings, I really enjoyed Knights of the Fallen Empire and Knights of the Eternal Throne and I’ve been craving more. Now that Onslaught is finally out, is it everything I’d hoped for?
The latest BL3 hotfix deployed yesterday and boy was it a doozy. The Nerfpocalypse, as I call it, is definitely real, but there are tons of new opportunities for fun (or even OP) builds to come out of the new update.
Certain enemies in Borderlands 3 will, ahem, rarely spawn in fixed locations (you can also sometimes get bounty board quests in Sanctuary for these spawns). For this week only, rare spawns will show up in their designated location every time you load the game and they’ll also have an increased chance to drop certain loot.
I’ve spent a ton of time farming and tinkering with my Moze build over the last week or so and I’ve now put together something that allows me to get everything the character offers in a single build.
I’ve been playing nothing but Borderlands 3 since the game dropped last week and while I’m having more fun than I’ve ever had in the series due to improvements in gameplay, there are some significant problems with the endgame right now.
Now that the full Borderlands experience is fresh in my memory, here are some things I’m looking forward to/hoping to find in Borderlands 3.
With all of that endgame focus over the years, what does Gearbox have in store for Borderlands 3? Well, this time around Borderlands 3 was designed with endgame in mind from the beginning and we learned quite a bit about what Gearbox is bringing to the table at this year’s Gamescom and PAX West shows over the last few weeks. Let’s dig in.
With lootboxes long gone and some quiet, but determined, work on the game over the last two years, SWBF2 has never been more fun to play. To top things off, there’s some great stuff coming in the remaining months of the year that looks to improve the experience even further.
I don’t know why, but I was expecting a lot more out of this year’s Gamescom. Unfortunately, it ended up being mostly a dud. Still, there’s always a couple things of note to come from each show, so let’s round up a couple of the highlights.
