Cinematics are integral parts of marketing across the games industry - and really the entertainment world. Game cinematics are oftentimes rightfully criticized for not being indicative of gameplay, but they can set the stage for the stories the MMORPG is meant to tell. Is there a cinematic that not only stood out to you, but rather got you interested in starting a new MMO?
To say New World has had some struggles since launching a month ago is an understatement. One of the areas where these issues are keenly felt, though, is in the MMO's PvP, especially its player wars. The developers took to the dev blog this afternoon to talk about some of the changes coming to PvP and Wars in Aeternum.
In an update to the ongoing issues that caused Amazon to shut down wealth transfers in New World, developer Scot Lane provided an update on the progress of the fix that has seen the economy come to a stand still in the new MMO.
Blizzard's monthly active users held firm quarter over quarter at 26 million users based on numbers shared during today's Activision Blizzard earnings call. Additionally, it was reported that Blizzard's revenue grew 20% year-over-year, thanks in no small part to its release of Diablo II: Resurrected in September.
Today during today's Activision Blizzard Q3 2021 Earnings Call, Blizzard Co-leader Jen Oneal will be stepping down by the end of the year. This would leave co-leader Mike Ybarra as the sole head of the MMORPG developer moving forward.

Fallen Earth came back late last week in a free-to-play classic server, and to say it's been popular with the MMORPG community is an understatement. In fact, the CEO of Little Orbit Matthew Scott reveled in the number of players online during Halloween with some player statistics worthy of celebration.
Blizzard has announced today that they are forming the World of Warcraft Community Council, a player council to help the Warcraft team gather feedback from its community.
Dwarves. Not the Firstborn, or the Secondborn of Illuvatar, but rather the red-headed stepchildren of Middle-earth. This is a race that, admittedly, Bradford hasn't spent too much time thinking about in the fourteen years he's run around The Lord of the Rings Online. But prepping for Gundabad has made him quite upset he's slept on the wonderful stories Standing Stone Games has written for this solemn race.
New World's hits keep coming. As Amazon works furiously to fix bugs that get introduced with each successive patch, new issues are being uncovered by players everyday. The latest is an exploit that is based around the chat box, one that could see a giant sausage grace your screen - or worse.
Fallen Earth is back this week after just days ago announcing it would be returning with Classic servers, which has seen many in the MMORPG community celebrate this unexpected surprise. But if you had your way, is there any other MMO you'd love see return unexpectedly and unlooked for?
Amazon's latest patch for New World went live early this morning, bringing back server transfers as well as the end-game PvP mode Outpost Rush. However, a side effect of this patch seems to have broken the auction house, as players are reporting that they are no receiving gold for sales that went through whilst they were offline.
Riders Republic, Ubisoft's extreme sports MMO, has released today across PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The massively multiplayer game places players in a massive playground where they can ski, bike, snowboard, and more against each other.
Growing up, Baldur's Gate was one of the formative RPGs for Bradford. A birthday present from his parents in high school, BioWare's epic RPG set the stage for the PC RPG nerd he'd become. However, it's not a desire to clear out backlog that has him yearning to jump back into the world, but rather prepping for his first Dungeons & Dragons game in 20 years.
After being delayed until early 2022, Amazon and Smilegate have announced a closed beta for Lost Ark in the west, which starts November 4th. Today in a series of blog posts, the team detailed what players can expect to see, as well as how monetization will work for the free-to-play MMOARPG.
