AMD Vega has been somewhat of a mixed product. The incredibly hyped, yet often delayed graphics architecture from AMD was finally released, but it’s release wasn’t without its issues last year. From stock issues thanks to low supply and demand from ethereum miners to a confusing way of packaging the product with monitors and game discounts, AMD Vega had a lot to live up to. So, was the hype worth the wait?
Jumping into PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One this week, almost immediately I was met with something that just didn’t look or feel right. Having logged over 150 hours on the PC version, I went into PUBG on my Xbox One X expecting the same fevered gameplay with the obvious compromises consoles bring with them - controller in a reactive shooter, 30 frames per second and a reduction in visual quality. What I got, however, was worse than you could probably imagine.
As I sat across the table from Hyung-Jun Kim at GStar 2017 in Busan, South Korea, you could tell Ascent: Infinite Realm was clearly something Bluehole was passionate about. Even through the translator that passion came across - everything Kim spoke of lit his eyes up. There were so many questions to be answered, so many issues encountered during our gameplay session - especially with A:IR’s flagship (see what I did there?) feature - airship to airship combat.
Starting my adventure, I first spoke to a fox-like being who set me on the path to learn how to fly. Funny, a fox, teaching me - a human - how to fly. Yet that is the type of stuff you can expect to see while you level to the end game in Ascent: Infinite Realm, the upcoming MMO from Bluehole.
In my experience thus far in Ascent: Infinite Realm, the new mmo coming from Bluehole Studios, is one of hectic choices and confusion ultimately leading into exaltation. The entirety of our Realm versus Realm experience broke down into two phases: attack and defense. Realm versus Realm combat breaks down into phases, each one on a timer. If you’re the defender, protect your core. Obviously, as an attacker, you’re tasked with destroying that core.
When Gigabyte announced a smaller profiled GTX 1080 graphics card for smaller Pc builds, I got pretty excited. I love seeing smaller cards like this as they just allow for PC builders and modders to do more with the power available to the platform. But just how much power is Gigabyte able to pack into so small a package?
I mentioned a recurring theme this week with our PUBG matches. We had a rash of Chicken Dinners last week, so the Rule of Three decided to kick in and start hampering our progress in PUBG again. Crashes would abound this week, hindering our progress. Yet we did the majority of the damage to ourselves thanks to our inability to decide where to land at the outset of the game.
Joe (Ralph) is possibly the best PUBG player in the Tawdry Ballz eSportz League. And it makes sense: he’s the only one in our band of brothers with actual Marine training. However, one thing has plagued him in PUBG: The solo chicken dinner.
We’ve taken a look at a number of products from Cougar Gaming this year. So far, every one has shown itself to be quite the bargain for the money. Today, we’re leaving peripherals behind and taking a look at their very own racing chair. Will it keep up the trend? Read on for our full review.
EVE Vegas is happening in the Entertainment Capital of the World and CCP Games dropped a bombshell for many of its attendees. Announcing “Project Aurora,” CCP Games and Play Raven showed the world the first glimpses of the persistent online mobile game set in the EVE universe the team has been working on these past nine months.
CCP Games made some huge announcements in Las Vegas giving more players the chance to experience more of EVE: Online, both in game and out.
Back in the early days of gaming with the Tawdry Crew, Shank and I realized that pretty much every game we play we can truly live out our South Park – World of Warcraft fantasies. In the Episode “Make Love, Not Warcraft,” Randy learns first hand that waving might be detrimental to his health.
Imagine a team of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds enthusiasts that is so inept that the only way to believe their ineptitude is to witness it first-hand. Imagine a team where if any could go wrong – it does. Imagine, if you can, a team of PUBG players who needlessly drown when able, only to still achieve the much lauded Chicken Dinner at the end of a match.
Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier this month to great fanfare. The isometric RPG made by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive, the biggest question going into the game was not whether or not it would be a great game – critics and fans alike agreed that PoE was stellar on PC. The question stemmed from how well the interface and controls would translate to a gamepad and television screen.
For many streamers and content creators, quality is the number one need when it comes to the production side of their operation. Ensuring the content they create is compelling, unique, and entertaining is one thing, but fans also expect a certain level of quality in what they watch.
