Opinion: Phantasy Star Online 2 Feels Like A Free To Play Version Of FFXIV

With the conclusion of Phantasy Star Online 2’s closed Beta event on Xbox One this past weekend, I can say without a doubt in my mind that I will be playing it on Day 1 when it launches this Spring. Here are just a few of the comparisons I made during my brief time in Phantasy Star Online 2 and why I think it’s the free-to-play version of one of the best MMOs ever.

Atelier Dusk Trilogy Impressions

the Atelier Dusk Trilogy was just re-released recently on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Originally exclusive to the PS3, the three Atelier titles in the Dusk Trilogy – Ayesha, Escha & Logy, and Shallie – have had some noticeable improvements in making them feel less dated. Although this is not our full review of the trilogy, here are our initial thoughts for those looking into whether to buy the RPG series or not.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne PC Review

Monster Hunter World’s first expansion, Iceborne, launched on consoles four months ago but unfortunately – just like the base game – PC players had to wait to get their paws on the latest update. Finally, Iceborne’s new frozen region of Hoarfrost Reach and the new hub Seliana is available to explore on PC. With over 20 new monsters to hunt and a new Master Rank difficulty to progress through, this $39.99 expansion adds a meaty offering for Monster Hunter fans. Here’s our review.

Now, over one year since the Enhanced Edition launched, it is finally being ported over to consoles for the first time ever. But how does it fare on the Nintendo Switch? Here is our review.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Review

It’s been a bumpy ride for Star Wars games over the past decade, with both previous Battlefront titles garnering mixed reviews and much controversy, as well as one of the last LucasArts games, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, receiving mediocre critical reviews. Enter Respawn Entertainment, developers of Titanfall and Apex Legends, to save the day. So, is the Force strong with Respawn Entertainment, or is this one for the Dark Side? This is our review of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Citadel: Forged With Fire Review

Citadel: Forged with Fire is a massive online sandbox RPG with survival elements in the vein of ARK: Survival Evolved and Conan Exiles. Developed by Blue Isle Studios, creators of Valley and Slender: The Arrival, the elevator-pitch for Citadel seems like it was “ARK meets Harry Potter” but without as many of the ‘survival’ aspects. So does this survival RPG hold some magic?
