The Allure of Elder Scrolls Online’s Never Ending Journey

I play a lot of MMOs. So say we all, right? But the one, four years later, I keep coming back to no matter what, is Elder Scrolls Online. It used to be Warcraft, which has become more of a “check out the expansion” title for me. But something about the sheer amount of content, progression diversity, and consistent updates keeps me coming back to ESO when no other game can.

Avenatti's Case Against Michael Cohen Points to Columbus Nova

While it may only tangentially involve Daybreak Games, it seems that the case against Michael Cohen via Stormi Daniels' law team, Avenatti & Associates, does indeed involve Columbus Nova and Russian Oligarch Mr. Vekselberg and his cousin Mr. Andrew Intrater.

MMOFTW - Bless the Paladin

This week's MMOFTW covers Bless' new combat videos, including a first look at the healing Paladin, World of Warcraft's new PVP toggle plans, Maplestory 2's beta, Conan Exiles' launch servers, and ESO's Psijic Order skils! Watch and learn!

Eden Rising: An Open World Tower Defense Survival RPG

Eden Rising from Nvizzio is definitely a novel idea. Nvizzio is comprised of many ex-Funcom Montreal folks, and though they’ve done a fair bit of contract work in the past, Eden Rising: Supremacy is their first wholly original offering and it’s based on their own brand new Sci-Fantasy IP. It’s part online RPG, but survival game, part tower defense, and all kinds of awesome looking.

Stan Wang on Crusaders of Light's Future & Moving to Steam

Crusaders of Light made a big splash when it debuted on mobile devices last year. Just last week, however, the mobile MMO made the jump to Steam. We chatted with Product Manager Stan Wang about the move and about CoL's future.

The Ups and Downs of Defiance 2050's First Beta

Defiance 2050 isn’t a full sequel. I think a lot of people, myself included, expected it to be sort of like Destiny 2. Same sort world, lots of new content and systems changes. That’s not what Defiance 2050 is. Instead, Trion’s essentially giving the game from 2013 a new life on a new console generation, with new visuals, new progression systems, and new tech. It’s up to you, if that’s enough to start over.

A Classic RPG, Finally on the Switch

Earthlock from Snowcastle Games is an absolute nostalgic joy to play. Originally launched as "Earthlock: Festival of Magic" over a year ago, the game has undergone significant improvements with a sort of "Director's Cut" on PC and the Switch, as well as other consoles. Feeling at once both reverential for classic 16-bit JRPGs and novel due to its western stylized setting and systems, Earthlock is a grand start to an RPG trilogy, and well worth the meagre price of admission.

Sponsored What Is Arcane Waters? (Sponsored)

Arcane Waters is an upcoming F2P fantasy sea-faring MMORPG from the one-man studio known as Final Forge. Mike --- has been working on the game, with the help of some freelance artists, composers, and the like for several years now. A hybrid blend of action RPG on water and turn-based combat on land, with classic pixel art, you’ve probably never seen anything quite like Arcane Waters.

Vox Machinae - Hands on with the Mech Battler at PAX East 2018

Vox Machinae is a mech gaming fan’s wet dream. Sorry, that was probably gross. But for real, Vox Machinae is three-faction mech battler that’s very much in the same vein as MechWarriors of old. Built primarily by a two-man dev team at Space Bullet, it was one of the best things I played at PAX East. Playable in VR, with a controller, or with the ol’ mouse and keyboard, it’s definitely one to watch.

Elgato Green Screen Review

As you know, we do a good amount of streaming and video work here at MMORPG.com, so when Elgato said they'd send us one of their pop-up Elgato Green Screens for review, we jumped at the chance. Simply put, there's no better option for a portable and easily collapsible green screen to use for streaming and video work.

PAX Prime 2018 - On Warfronts and with Daniel Stahl & Morgan Day

During PAX East, the Blizzard team was there in full force promoting the next WoW expansion: Battle for Azeroth. We managed to sit down with Morgan Day and Daniel Stahl to chat about some of the new PVE content and systems being added to the game, primarily the Island Expeditions and the Warfronts. Read on for part two of our exclusive interview with Daniel and Morgan!

PAX East 2018 Destiny’s Sword is an MMORPG Where Mental Health Matters

2Dogs Games is making something that’s never been tried before in the MMORPG space. Destiny’s Sword is a futuristic combat/strategy MMORPG. But what sets it apart isn’t that you control a squad as a commander - it’s that your characters will feel, suffer, and deal with real emotional issues and strife caused by the war you fight in.

PAX East 2018 - Rend Gets Bigger and Better

Rend, if you remember, wants to make the survival sandbox RPG not suck. If PAX East’s showing is any indication, I suspect that Frostkeep is well on their way to this goal. While still in alpha (with a new testing phase coming up very soon), there’s a whole lot of of new content - 9 new biomes, over 30 new monsters, entirely new player character models, new progression and skill trees, personal bases/housing, clan bases/housing, and on and on and on.

PAX East 2018 - Open Beta is Coming on May 24th

We caught up with the Dauntless team from Phoenix Labs at PAX East, and got the date you’ve all been waiting for - Open Beta is coming May 24th. It’ll be basically the “soft launch” of the monster slaying MMO, available for free through the official site, and no more progress wipes will happen after that date. For all intents and purposes, the game will be out in the wild for founders and everyone else to enjoy. Strap in.
