Rich Lambert on One Tamriel at PAX West

During PAX West, the Elder Scrolls Online team reserved a big presentation room that basically served as “ESO Haven” for the entirety of the show. It had costumes, weapons, flags, banners, and a swanky presentation space to show off bits of Update 12: One Tamriel. During the event, I sat down with Creative Director Rich Lambert to discuss the free update and its many bits and pieces.

PAX West 2016 – Best of Show Awards

The time of year for PAX West has come and gone, and I’ll probably never stop secretly calling it PAX Prime. That said, we saw a lot of great games at the show this year, so it’s time to dust off the Award Plaques and hand ‘em out to those we deem worthy. Read on!

MMOFTW - WoW Legion Sells 3.3 Million

This week's MMOFTW covers the new Guild Wars 2 content, Dark and Light's upcoming early access period, Dual Universe's kickstarter, Osiris: New Dawn's announcement, and Legion's victory cry. Watch and learn!

A First Look at Starfall Prophecy

Rift’s next big expansion is just weeks away with Starfall Prophecy set to launch this fall. There are no new souls or callings this time, but Starfall Prophecy is probably shaping up to be one of the biggest expansions the game’s yet seen. We met with Julia Adams-Esgrow at PAX West 2016 and got a solid first look at the new zones and systems coming to Telara.

A Tale of Two Worlds Made By Three People

Every year at PAX West there are one or two surprises when we sit down for our appointments with loads of independent developers. This year was no different, and Fenix Fire Entertainment Osiris: New Dawn is an amazing example of what a few people with patience and a load of talent and imagination can do. A brand new sci-fi adventure sandbox with MMO trappings, it’s definitely one to watch as it nears Early Access this month.

Hero's Song - An Ambitious Old School MMORPG, Playable this November

While its Kickstarter didn’t pan out, Hero’s Song from PixelMage Games secured funding elsewhere, and during PAX West 2016, I had the chance to see the game in action for myself. From the creation of the worlds you host on your PC to the hunting and adventuring in the world we just created right there from scratch on John Smedley’s gaming laptop.

The Exiled Tribune – Essence League and Atlas of Worlds Launch

Last week was a doozy for Path of Exile fans as the Atlas of Worlds expansion launched and the Essence Challenge League began. It’s never a dull moment in Wraeclast, and there’s a lot of stuff to recap for this week. Read on, for your weekly dose of the Exiled Tribune.

Episode 2 Drops September 20th, Takes Us Back to the Ring of Fire

During PAX West 2016, our first appointment of the show was with none other than ArenaNet for Guild Wars 2’s new Living World Episode. We saw none other than Nellie Hughes (renowned for her work on City of Heroes once upon a moon), and Elisabeth Claire to chat about the new episode and how players will be making their return to a zone we haven’t seen since the Prophecies Campaign of Guild Wars 1.

Revelation is Like a Whole New Game

In the coming months, Trion Worlds’ and XLGames’ ArcheAge is set to undergo its largest free content update ever with the launch of 3.0: Revelation. Bringing two new races (one for each faction) each with their own regions, the Dwarves and the Warborn are about to shake things up in the ongoing battle between two halves of the world.

PAX West 2016 - The Tide is Rising with this CRPG

We have played Torment: Tides of Numenera, and lo… it was good. During PAX Prime, we got our hands on one of Kickstarter’s most successfully funded gaming projects. It’s been a long time coming, but the inXile team is getting ever closer to releasing this long-awaited successor to Planescape Torment. As such, we sat down with Colin McComb and George Ziets from the team and played a solid 45 minutes of the opening.

Scott Hartsman: Atlas Reactor, Lootboxes, Rift and the Changing Economy of Games

Scott Hartsman of Trion Worlds is one of gaming’s most open and candid CEO’s. During PAX West 2016, he and I sat down to discuss Trion Worlds’ games, past, present, and future. When I found him, he was sitting at the front desk, handing out codes for free items, talking with fans, and telling people about Atlas Reactor. We found two chairs, and went off the rails into all manner of uncharted discussions.

7.2
A Fun, Futuristic Shooter RPG

Livelock, formerly World War Machine, from Tuque Games and Perfect World is a hybrid twin-stick top-shooter and multiplayer ARPG. It can be played solo or with up to three people online with one of three characters (Capital Intellects), and it follows a linear narrative, with re-playability coming in the form of an endless Survival Mode that’s procedurally generated.

An Interview About Runewaker's ARPG with MMO Elements

Guardians of Ember is looking to create something new for players who love both MMOs and action RPGs. We had the chance to chat with the team to learn more about the game that will be entering early access in the near future.

Legion is Here, Are You Playing?

The big day is here, and so far, the servers of Azeroth are holding up. World of Warcraft: Legion is officially launched, and a great many of us are playing. The question we want to ask is… are you?

The Exiled Tribune – How Will the Atlas of Worlds Work?

This week in the Exiled Tribune, we’re covering all of the week’s Path of Exile news with aplomb and grit of a true ARPG hero. That is to say, we’re smashing everything, looting anything blue or above, and wandering around killing all the monsters. What does this have to do with the week’s news?
