The Darkening of Tristram event for Diablo 3 is on the PTR for Blizzard's ARPG. We dove in head first to play the first few levels of the re-imagined Diablo 1 - and ran smack dab into the butcher. Watch the first 15 or so minutes of Diablo 1 in D3, and let us know what you think!
Dishonored 2 is the brand new sequel to Bethesda's hit action stealth game. You can play as either Corvo or his daughter and empress Emily Kaldwin. The game offers an unprecedented level of choice when it comes to how you accomplish your goals, whether you're an all our assassin, a silent stalker of the streets, or a mix of both.
Few RPGs have ever made me really think about the consequences of my actions. The last time it happened was in the Witcher 3. Obsidian’s and Paradox’s Tyranny is right up there with last year’s multi-award winning Game of the Year. If you prefer your RPGs a little more isometric and your combat more party-oriented and strategic, well then Tyranny may just be one of the best RPGs in recent memory.
Guardians of Ember is now firmly working its way through Steam Early Access on its journey to full release. We had the opportunity to chat with InselGames to see how Guardians of Ember fared during its first event and what the plans are for the game’s immediate future.
Let's play Tyranny! A brand new RPG from Obsidian where you play the Fatebinder - the right hand of an oppressive god-like tyrant. Will you guide his will, or make decisions of your own? Will you unleash his commands, or try to usurp his throne? Tyranny launches on PC on November 10th.
People were expecting something huge from Diablo at BlizzCon 2016. And while we got news of the Necromancer (it’s awesome), and a Diablo 1 anniversary event (also awesome) we wanted more. We expected more. And it’s that lack of a bigger expansion or sequel to Diablo 3 that makes us believe there’s something bigger coming from Tristram.
Heroes of the Storm is a special brand of insanity from Blizzard. The hero brawler is getting a bunch of new stuff in the coming weeks, and we caught up with Lead Live Designer Matthew Cooper to chat about the new heroes, tweaks to the Haunted Mines, the new Brawl, and more. Read on!
Diablo 3’s about to have a pretty big 2017 with the Diablo: Darkening of Tristram event going live in January, the Necromancer Character Pack later in 2017, and tons of new features being added as well. We caught up with Blizzard’s Wyatt Cheng and Rob Foote to discuss all the new stuff coming to D3 and the future of Diablo as a franchise.
During BlizzCon 2016, we caught up with Ion Hazzikostas and Patrick Magruder about the upcoming Patch 7.1.5, and 7.2 (Tomb of Sargeras). Loads of new content was revealed, and we got even more info out of Ion and Patrick.
During BlizzCon 2016, it was revealed that the Necromancer hero class would be making his triumphant return to Diablo 3 in a forthcoming Character Pack (not an expansion) in 2017. Lucky for us, the male Necro was playable at the show, and we played through the 15 minute or so demo and took some of the class’ old skill made anew for a spin.
Revelation Online is the latest game from My.com, an import of a popular Chinese game from NetEase – a developer known in the west already for its mobile RPGs. The best way to describe Revelation, from our brief time with it, is that it’s an open world MMORPG that bears resemblance to a birthchild of TERA, Aion, and Blade & Soul. It is an odd game, but one that’s proving fun in its first few hours.
When Vuzix’s PR firm asked me to look at the iWear Video Headphones and write a review, I jumped at the chance. I’m not an early adopter of VR (no Vive or Oculus for me), but the technology fascinates me, and I was not disappointed by the iWear’s capabilities. That said, there are several limitations to the headset that keep me from recommending it to everyone.
Hero’s Song, Pixelmage Games’ first title as a newly founded studio under John Smedley, went into Alpha 3 and early access for IndieGoGo backers late last night. Our own Bill Murphy was one such backer and eagerly jumped into the game this morning for a first hands-on session with the game.
Elder Scrolls Online’s most recent update, One Tamriel, fundamentally changed how the game can be played. Now, with Skyrim’s Special Edition launching for PS4, XB1, and PC, we take a look at how ESO’s One Tamriel has turned the MMORPG into the premier Elder Scrolls experience.
Next week, we’ll be attending BlizzCon 2016, the 10th such affair in the company’s long and storied existence. Last year’s convention was pretty intense, with Legion info, Overwatch, Warcraft movie goodness… it’s hard to imagine that 2016 could somehow top last year. But it’s the TENTH BlizzCon. We’d be fools to think that the Irvine, California based studio didn’t have some sort of surprise up its sleeve.
