It seems like only a few months back that Lightseekers went to Kickstarter to build a new kind of Toys to Life Action RPG in the vein of Skylanders, but for mobile devices. Not only is there a Free to Play ARPG on iOS and Android, but there’s also a fully-developer physical card battle game out in the wild too.
Breakaway, the forthcoming team battle sport from Amazon Game Studios is getting set to enter a brand new phase of alpha testing. We caught up with Creative Director Dave Verfaillie to chat about the game’s design, its recent feedback, and how things are changing for the next wave of public testing. Read on!
There’s a big PVP update coming to Heart of the Mists in Guild Wars 2’s next update. To further detail the changes, we were able to interview ArenaNet’s Benjamin Phongluangtham and Grant Gertz about the new envisioning of the PVP hub and what new rewards come with excelling in the game.
During BE3 (Bethesda’s Annual E3 Showcase), we got an all-too-brief look at the two major DLC packs coming up next in Elder Scrolls Online: Horns of the Reach and Clockwork City. The first is a dungeon-based DLC, and the second is a large story-line driven exploration of Sotha Sil’s famed lost city. Today we’re unpacking these announcements and offering our thoughts.
It's official. The PC version of Destiny 2 will be shipping on October 24th, 2017, roughly 6 weeks after it arrives on PS4 and XB1 on September 6th. Beta for the PS4 and XB1 begins on July 21st, with a PC beta beginning in August. Pre-orders are now live for the Battle.net PC version as well.
Astellia is an upcoming MMORPG being prepped for release in North America from Barunson E&A. It’s due out in CBT in Korea next month, and due to release in the beginning of 2018 overseas. While we’re looking at the end of 2018 for its North American release, we wanted to chat with Barunson E&A now to find out what we can expect.
We've got ONE extra copy of the Collector's Edition for ESO: Morrowind on the PC. And we're giving it away to one of you. Check out the Gleam.IO contest below, enter as many times as you can, and let's see who comes out the victor in a week.
If you’ve been following ESO for a while, you’ll know that PVP is a core component of the game, but until now it’s been entirely contained within the open-world region of Cyrodiil. That changes with today’s official launch of ESO’s first chapter – Morrowind. One of the big new features of the game is 4v4v4 Battlegrounds.
Elder Scrolls Online, and I make no secrets about this, is my current favorite MMORPG on the market. But I’ve loved the regular quarterly DLC that comes with the ESO Plus subscription. Can Morrowind, ESO’s first chapter, truly make spending the extra $40 or more a worthwhile leap? In short, if you love story and ESO’s best adventuring content – yes. This is our Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind review.
I’ve got a confession to make: I wish I played The Secret World more. But every time I take a stab at it since its launch, eventually the monotony of the combat and the overly complex nature of creating viable builds pushes me away. Luckily, it seems Funcom thinks I’m not the only one, and the soon-to-launch F2P Online RPG re-release known as Secret World Legends aims to pull me back in for good.
The Samurai is one of the new jobs coming to Final Fantasy XIV when its Stormblood expansion launches on June 20th. Along with a whole game’s worth of story content, a level cap raise, new dungeons, the new Red Mage job, swimming, new raid, and so much more – the Samurai is eagerly anticipated as one of the most wanted parts of the Stormblood expansion. Today, we’re taking a look at the lore behind the job, its function in a fight, and more.
This week’s update from Bungie, following the flurry of information on Destiny 2 we received last week, focuses not only on the gameplay reveal but perhaps more importantly on the idea of dedicated servers. As a matter of utmost import to prospective PC Destiny players, Bungie set out to assuage worries that the Peer to Peer networking used by Destiny 2 will somehow invite hacking and an inferior gameplay experience.
The Striker lands today in Black Desert Online. The latest new class to hit the game, he focuses on using his fists and feet as his weapons of choice. He’s basically like Ken or Ryu from Street Fighter and that’s just awesome. We caught up with Pearl Abyss' Project Director JH Kim to ask him about the class and what’s next for BDO.
Morrowind is back, people. And while fans of the now aging third entry into the Elder Scrolls main series may find ESO’s version of Vvardenfell quite different, that’s kind of the point. Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is 15th anniversary celebration of the original game. It’s homage to the title that helped make The Elder Scrolls a gaming icon. It’s also a self-contained story or “chapter” added to ESO. And so far, it’s been a very good time indeed.
Destiny 2 wowed me last week at the official gameplay reveal in Los Angeles. I mean, yes, it’s basically just Destiny 1.5, but on PC – but I wasn’t expecting it to feel or look quite so good compared to its console cousin. We all know “PC Master Race”, but there at Hawthorne Airport, it became so apparent that the PC has the leg up with this game. And those players willing to give up the XBone or PS4 will likely be very happy they did.
