TROVE is the colorful, carefree, but feature-packed MMORPG that keeps on getting bigger. Trion Worlds today launches the Eclipse update, a day later than that other Eclipse. We were fortunate enough to run through a demo of the content on deck, and bring you this report today as the patch goes live on servers.
Ok, that’s probably not our best title, but we’re running with it. H1Z1: Just Survive is now titled just Just Survive, as it’s breaking free from King of the Kill, and running off into its own zombie filled world with its own lore and own mechanics. The Daybreak Games team has been hard at work since October of 2016 overhauling most everything. The result is a game that is recognizable to its original release, but far more polished and playable today.
The Corsair Scimitar RGB MMO Gaming Mouse is the stalwart tech company’s own entry into the MMO mouse arena, with 12 buttons on the side and 17 total buttons for extensive control options. It’s Corsair’s answer to the Logitech G600, the Razer Naga, and the Roccat Nyth. But how does it stack up? Turns out, really damn well. Read on for our full review.
A few weeks back, Chris Coke reviewed the GT Omega chair here on this site. When AK Racing then asked us to take a look at their new Overture line, Chris was smart – he knew he’d get wife aggro if he gave a home to another large racing chair in his homestead. Ergo, Bill took on this assignment, lower back pain and all, and has come away pleased with the construction and comfort of the Overture. Read on, dear visitor.
MU Legend, due out in open beta in the coming weeks, is Webzen's next big installment of their flagship IP. To make sure the music was as memorable as the action, the company hired Jesper Kyd to craft the soundtrack for the forthcoming action MMORPG. Today, we're pleased to present two tracks, heard first here at MMORPG.com.
Last week, ArenaNet unveiled the next expansion to Guild Wars 2. Called Path of Fire, the expansion is "all about content". We had the opportunity to submit a number of questions to ArenaNet's Mike Zadorojny to learn more about the expansion, bringing returning players back to Tyria and much more.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is steaming along in development. We wanted to see what the team has been working on most recently, so we checked in with Lead Designer Bobby Null to find out.
Fortnite is out, being devoured by half a million players, Chris Coke loves it, and many of us here at MMORPG.com are playing the not-so-MMO shooter/RPG/tower defense. But technically, EPIC’s calling it Early Access, meaning the game’s not done yet and won’t be until it shifts to Free to Play sometime in 2018. With that in mind, we’re listing off 5 things we’d love to see added to Fortnite before its official launch.
Sources close to the in-development game have reported via social media that NEXON Korea has indeed closed down the California-based NEXON Studio responsible for the forthcoming Nebula, a game we'll now never know much about...
This week, we're starting a new mini-feature here at MMORPG.com. Our friends at MMOGames are teaming up on a recurring basis to highlight each other's content across the web. After all, we're all in this crazy MMO fandom together, so we might as well be friends! Insert the War picture here...
Have you heard of Foxhole? I’m sure some of you have, but don’t feel bad if the answer is no. Until developer Clapfoot’s PR agency asked us to talk with the studio, we didn’t either. Then we played the game, launching into Early Access today on Steam, and we’re now very big fans. Read on for our hands-on preview of this unique persistent war MMO.
I’m writing this, instead of playing Fortnite, because the game is currently down for maintenance and taking longer than anticipated because they’ve had to scale up exponentially and broke themselves. That’s a good problem to have, I suppose – game’s doing really well in sales and had to come down to increase server load. But while I wait, here’s why I think the MMORPG.com crowd should give this one a look.
Brightlocker is a new game development, game sharing, game funding, game streaming, game everything platform from a group of industry veterans based out of Austin Texas. What is it exactly? Try to imagine one service that connects the capabilities and functions of Kickstarter, Twitch, Social Media, and Private Forums all in one place. It’s a service that wants to connect players and devs in deeper ways than any before it, to let both work together to foster great games on a more tangible level.
One of the more interesting titles I’ve tried in my short time with the Oculus Rift has been Illion’s Preta: Vendetta Rising. Billing itself as a hybrid between Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, and always online with others, I was intrigued from the start. The intro, though bare bones with a story of amnesia you see coming a mile away, was also encouraging. Then you get into the town hub. And it all falls apart.
Secret World Legends has been very good to me. But it’s also been slightly annoying. On one hand, I’ve been enthralled with the game for the first time since launch. Combat, pacing, and adventuring all got a leg up over the original. But with this massive step forward came a big step back.
