Despite the lower prices on TVs these days, the cost of monitors always seems to be high. If you want the most out of your gaming PC, one that takes advantage of technology on your video card, one that has all the bells and whistles for the best gaming experience. And that? That costs a pretty penny. Then comes the Pixio New PX277, which offers everything but 4K for a remarkably affordable price. You can nab the New PX277 for $399 MSRP. This is our review.
If you’ve been playing your Nintendo Switch as much as I have, you’re probably already eagerly awaiting any new epic RPG that comes out. We’ve had Breath of the Wild, we got Skyrim, and Disgaea 5, but for many JRPG fans, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be the first really exciting release on the Switch. And I’m here to say that it’s been worth the wait for the follow up to the Wii’s original classic. This is our Xenoblade Chronicles 2 review for the Nintendo Switch.
Have you played Dungeoneers? Have you heard of it? It’s likely the answer to both questions is no, and that’s a shame because Rogue Sword has created an excellent and addictive RPG in your browser. It’s also coming to mobile devices next year if that’s more your speed. Read on for our impressions of Dungeoneers: a classic take on the dungeon crawling of tabletop RPGs.
Let’s face it, Destiny 2 is a really good game - that’s also facing some really warranted criticism as of late. The current XP reduction fiasco, the lack of endgame content because they chose to reboot the series rather than add to it, and so on are detracting from the very real fact that Destiny 2 is a damned fine game that plays great on PC. But what can make it better?
Way back in 2010, we wrote a List of the Top 5 PVP MMOs. Well, seven years on (almost eight), how does it hold up? Read on to find out.
There’s a downside to moving into a bigger house for my kids to grow up in. My wi-fi signal suddenly doesn’t cover my whole house. There are a lot of solutions for such a problem, and I was happy to find out that the folks at Amped Wireless wanted us to review their Helios-Ex AC2200 Wi-Fi Range Extender. It’s tri-band with a DirectLink option that can eliminate the speed slowdown other extenders often come with.
It’s always fun to upgrade from a regular HDD to a new shiny SSD with the insanely increased read/write speeds. With that in mind, Kingston sent along their new UV400 960GB SSD Upgrade Kit. Is the big price tag for the SSD worth the size and speed? Read on for our review.
Skyrim is one of those games that I’ll play again and again, and apparently buy again and again. I’ve bought it at least three different times now, and I’m thankful Bethesda saw fit to send us a review copy of Skyrim for the Switch to review on the site. Finally, one of the best open world RPGs of all time is truly portable. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s still just as fun as ever. This is our Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Switch review.
Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan is the upcoming Action MMORPG from Insel Games, the publishers of Guardians of Ember, but from a different developer - Nuriworks. The best way to think of it? Wild Buster is basically the lovechild of Borderlands and Diablo, though Borderlands already was Diablo +Shooters... you get my drift. Over the top action, cartoony gorey violence, and lots of weapons in a Mad Max-esque dystopian future. But does it play well? That’s what I wanted to find out.
You may be thinking that because I asked whether or not Destiny 2 was a mistake that I don’t like the game. On the contrary, amid the sheer chaos that is this year’s game release schedule, Destiny 2 is one of a few I keep coming back to time and again. Finally on the PC, Bungie’s Sci-Fantasy MMO-like shooter is something special. Not without its faults, Destiny 2 feels right at home on the PC and the future's looking bright. This is our Destiny 2 PC review.
A:IR, or Ascend: Infinite Realm, was just fully revealed ahead of G-STAR 2017. Being made by Bluehole Studio (TERA) and brought west by Kakao Games (Black Desert), it looks to have everything an MMORPG fan desires. RVR combat, complex crafting, housing, customizable airships, pets, deep classes, a massive world, player-made quests, and so forth. Could it be that the first big AAA MMORPG to hit the West in years will come out of South Korea?
MU Legend is a new MMO Action RPG from Webzen, or as I like to call it, the House that MU Built. What is it? Well, think of Devilian, or Diablo 3, or Marvel Heroes with Webzen’s MU stylings. That’s the gist of it. But is it any good? The answer is, after 24 levels and several hours - yes, we think?
BlizzCon 2017 was probably my favorite BlizzCon in years. So much great content was revealed, while two of the IPs were a little less than enthusiastically represented (I’ve a hunch that next year will be big for the Devil). But far and away, it was a big year for World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm. Read on for our picks for the Best of BlizzCon 2017.
The next expansion for World of Warcraft is Battle for Azeroth that finally takes the dormant cold war between the two factions to the next level. We were able to get our hands on two of the new zones coming with the game’s 7th expansion. There’s a metric ton of new content coming with BfA, but sadly most of that new stuff has to wait for the beta. Read on for our impressions of Fallhaven and the town possessed by a Witch in Kul’Tiras.
Destiny 2 is a great game. But it’s also short on content for those coming either from the first game or new to the series. Sure, it’s technically a “new game”, but people playing MMOs, even ones that avoid the term, expect loads of content to keep them busy. Fair enough, Destiny 2 can claim it’s a whole new game. But the danger of taking an MMO and giving it a direct sequel is that you’re sacrificing all that older content to the garbage bin.
