Wizard101 released a new $29 Jewel Crafter's bundle today at GameStop that seems to be inspired by the recent jewel socketing update combined with all the magic one finds in the sparklier places of The Spiral.
After five years in development, including a year in Beta, on this day Merle Ambrose and Gamma the Owl started guiding students through picking a class and preparing for that first fearsome fight with the Jade Oni (Malistaire didn’t even think to show up until a few months later)! Now that it’s been seven years and over 50 million registered accounts later, it’s time to let the numbers do the talking while we take a look back at seven big moments in the history of Wizard101.
Wizard101’s Ultra Summer Update went live this week with a whole lot of something for every type of player. New challenges from old foes, pets taking a dip in the DNA pool, a new age of PvP, and more housing and gardening than you can shake a glow stick at (the new Ultra plants have a really cool glow effect).
The latest Hoard Card Pack from Wizard101 is named the Terror’s Hoard Pack, and I tore into them this week. I’m not usually a big customer of the Hoard packs; due to the vile hate the RNG gods apparently feel for me, I don’t usually spend crowns on them. At first I refused to buy them until they changed the name to the Alliance Card Packs. Then I realized it was “Hoard” as in “stash,” not the orcs of Azeroth, so I gave up that idea.
