Robin loves RPGs, MMOs, JRPGs, Action, and Adventure games... also puzzle games... and platformers... and exploration games... there are very few games she isn't interested in. When it comes to MMOs she focuses on WoW and GW2 but will pick-up other games as they catch her fancy. She's a habitual returner to FFXIV because that game is an all-around great MMO.
After weeks of seeing reports about alpha builds behind the scenes, Blizzard put out a statement on Monday saying the first rounds of invites to the closed alpha for Shadowlands will be going out this week.

Robin is taking a look back at World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Battle For Azeroth, as we gear up - literally - for the upcoming Shadowlands expansion.
This past week we’ve seen some interesting updates to 8.3 and, in particular, to how the Horrific Visions of Orgrimmar/Stormwind work. However, the choices made in some of these changes are a bit frustrating in certain respects.
It’s time once again to pick back up on my replay of the story of Guild Wars 2. Last time I had just finished with the first expansion Heart of Thorns story. Mordremoth had been vanquished but at the cost of also killing Trahearne to prevent the Elder Dragon from taking over his mind. Additionally, during the cutscene at the end of the HoT storyline, we also saw what looked like an explosion of ley magic come out of Mordremoth and spread out into many directions. One of these directions was righ
A week and two days after mythic Ny'alotha opened up, Complexity Limit downed N'Zoth and claimed the world first title. A though a week is a norm for most raids, it's worth noting that it took almost two weeks for Azshara to be killed. Robin explores whether or not Ny'alotha is a simpler raid by comparison.
It's been two weeks since Patch 8.3 has hit World of Warcraft, and our resident WoW expert, Robin, has some thoughts on the patch. From the Auction House bugs to the Heroic Visions. Check out her latest column on the venerable MMO here.
One year and five months after the launch of Battle for Azeroth, we are getting the final major patch of the expansion. On the one hand, it feels like this expansion has just flown by, but on the other, it has at times seemed like it languished. Mainly the arrival of some class fixes, azurite armor updates, and essences felt like they took too long to be implemented and perhaps should have been part of the core systems since the beginning of this expansion. That said, it feels like 8.2 has only been out for a short while. Either way, I’m happy to finally faceoff with N’Zoth and to be one step closer to putting this expansion behind us. However, I do have some concerns.
One of the major features coming with the new Shadowlands expansion is the level squish and revamp of how leveling works. Reducing the level cap back down to 60 will fix some more of the issues but if things keep going the way they have been since BC, we’ll eventually have the same problem all over again. Join Robin as she breaks down her thoughts on how to fix the issues with WoW's leveling for the long term.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 has gotten off to a solid start, and I honestly had a ton of fun playing. Unfortunately, for me, the gender locked classes are a pretty big deal, and having issues with finding groups to do things can be frustrating. One problem is currently it’s easy to knock out the dailies, which is nice because we aren’t endlessly grinding our faces on, but once people get their dailies done, the server can feel a bit like a ghost town. They do have a December patch planned and new content is on the way, so hopefully, they’ll be able to reach a good state of equilibrium.
This past week, Robin found herself without anything she wanted to work on in World of Warcraft, which is kind of a new thing for her. Join her as she recounts her week in Azeroth, specifically tackling the Pilgrim's Bounty.
