Nearly a year after the release of the trailer of Final Fantasy 14’s new expansion, Dawntrail, It’s pretty obvious by now that at least a massive portion of the cultural influence draws from South America.
In fact, during the Las Vegas Fan Festival, every time G’raha Tia showed up on the screen eating a taco, there were venue-wide cheers. Was it for G’raha, or was it for the taco? Or, perhaps it was both?
Recently, we got to explore the city of Tuliyollal at the Dawntrail Media Tour, and we’re pleased to announce that if you want to visit this legendary spot, you're in luck: The taco tent is real.
During the Media Tour hands-on preview, I saw a peculiar item on the map of Tuliyollal, the new town hub and main city of Tural: a spot called Aunt Tii's Tacos, on the southeast bit of the map. When I ventured over to look, indeed, there was a taco tent, headed by an NPC named Tiisol Ja.
Of course, with the development build being so limited, we didn’t get any relevant text from the NPCs present. However, the fact that it exists at all is pretty neat. I'm personally a fan of tacos before saving the world (read: going out until 6 a.m.).
This perhaps brings up more questions than it resolves. Will "Aunt Tii" play a part in our grand story? Will we be able to buy these fabled tacos endorsed by G'raha Tia ourselves? Maybe we’ll do some Mexican-themed Culinarian quests there? Personally, I hope we canonically eat tacos. Regardless, we hope this helps you find it when you land in Tural.
