With the hotly anticipated release of Star Wars Battlefront II rapidly approaching, one question that has yet to be answered is this: What does DLC look like and how much will it cost?

Since their last Battlefront release, EA has been doing a lot of listening, reading Reddit posts, and reviewing analytics. Something that stood out to the development team was a bifurcation of their player base between those who had purchased DLC and those who did not. Because of their desire to provide a consistent experience for all players, the team made the choice to release all Star Wars Battlefront II post-launch content for free. But wait, there’s more.

With the launch comes the Star Wars Battlefront II: Season One experience. Season One will have events and content that will coincide with the release of The Last Jedi in theaters.

This all begins with your choice of allegiance. As you fight for your chosen faction you will help lead your team to dominance for the season. Will you champion the Light Side or secure galactic dominion for the Dark Side? Choose wisely and you will be rewarded.

Throughout this timeframe, new maps will become available alongside new ships and heroes. Joining that roster with be Finn and Captain Phasma, as well as Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing will also get some upgrades inspired by The Last Jedi.

On top of all of this, Season One content will include bonus event weekends, focused events for specific Galactic Assaults, faction based challenges, quests, and new content for the single player campaign. You read that right: expansion of Iden Versio’s story.

With all of this news, Star Wars Battlefront II’s plan for DLC is shaping up to keep players engaged and together in the action as they continue to dive into a long-beloved franchise. You can read EA’s full press release here.
